A couple of weeks ago I covered RadPad’s new Android Pay promotion in a Quick Deal and Greg the Frequent Miler followed up with his analysis in a dedicated post. The promotion was simple. You could pay your rent with a credit card fee-free through the end of the year if you used RadPad and Android Pay. Unfortunately, it seems that promotion was too popular.
Tonight RadPad announced the premature end of the Android Pay promotion on their blog.
Although we are overwhelmed that the promotion has gained so much traction, we drastically underestimated just how many people would sign up to pay their rent with Android Pay; and within only a few weeks we’ve surpassed the budget for the entire year that was allocated to subsidize the credit card fee.
That is why we regret to inform everyone that beginning today, August 24th, 2016 we will no longer be able to offer the Android Pay promotion.
If you have already signed up and qualified with RadPad and your rent payment is completed on or before August 31, 2016 then you get a little break.
Anyone who signed up and qualified for the promotion prior to August 24th, 2016 will still enjoy free credit card fees as long as their rent is charged on or before August 31, 2016.
As a reminder, RadPad carries the following fees normally to pay your rent:
- Credit cards – 2.99%
- Debit cards – $4.95
- ACH – Free
HT: Doctor of Credit
Hmm… Didn’t even know about the fee free offer, but RadPad was kind enough yesterday to send an email to me saying if I use their service, I would be entered to win a trip to the Cayman Islands.
Even though RadPad has apparently “run out of money” for doing fee free transactions clearly their marketing department budget has not been gutted yet.
Having dealt with RadPad for the first time almost nearly 2 years ago –well before any mention on any bog– it was then I questioned RadPad’s trustworthiness and competency: I have more trust in drinking Mexican tapwater, and eating gas station sushi, than the level of Trust I have with RadPad. A gorilla smoking a joint, while performing open heart surgery on a human has more competency than the folks at RadPad.
This coming from someone who had dealt with WilliamPaid before the company went belly up– I had zero issues with WilliamPaid.
wow! what a comment! you should try yourself as a stand up comedian 🙂
thank you!
Once again, pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. Pretty predictable that once the MS finds out about an opportunity through the blogs, they’ll burn it to the ground.
And also to add that they could not process AMEX for this month
My payment was completed already, from my AmEx BCP.
What a bunch of amateurs.
If they can’t handle a promotion, how can we trust them to deal with thousands of dollars of rent money? EPIC fail. Radpad is amateur hour. Done with them.
