In addition to the 5%/5x earnings available through December 24 at Walmart, Best Buy, Office Depot/OfficeMax & more, Rakuten is currently offering 10%/10x at a large number of retailers which in some cases can stack nicely with Amex Offers and Chase Offers.
The Deal
- Earn 10%/10x from Rakuten when paying at a number of retailers in-store with a linked card.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expiry date unknown.
- Various limits.
- A linked offer is good for 1 hour after initial redemption. After such time the offer must be re-linked prior to your next purchase.
- Offers not valid for gift card purchases.
Quick Thoughts
10% cashback or 10x Membership Rewards can be a great return if you’re wanting to do some (relatively) last minute holiday shopping in-store. There are 30 stores with this increased rate which includes:
- Gap
- H&M
- Levi’s
- Boscov’s
- Maurices
- Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store
- Carter’s
- Duluth Trading Co
Even better, some of these offers can be stacked by paying with a linked card that has a corresponding Amex Offer or Chase Offer attached to it. For example, there’s a Levi’s Amex Offer giving $30 back when spending $150, targeted H&M Amex Offers giving 10% or 25% back on up to $40 of spend and a targeted Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Chase Offer giving 15% back on up to $190 of spend.
These card-linked in-store offers aren’t necessarily always going to be your best options though. For example, Duluth Trading Co is currently offering 20% off when buying $50+ of their eGift cards, so if you have a good idea of how much a purchase there in-store is going to cost you, you’d likely be better off buying a gift card for close to that amount, then paying for the balance with a card linked in Rakuten for 10%/10x on that residual amount.
Has anyone ever noticed that may retailers like Target, and Best Buy seem to have dead links when clicking through Rakuten and AA shopping portal ? I couldn’t click onto Target Best, Buy, Marriott website through Rakuten or AA advantage shopping portal ?
