There are some decent deals on round trip flights in Premium Economy to Asia at the moment, many of which cost less than $1,000. These are available from cities on both the west and east coast, with some of the best deals being on flights to China.
The Deal
- Fly round trip in Premium Economy to various cities in Asia for as low as $748.
Key Terms
- Various cities on various dates available.
Quick Thoughts
The best deal I was able to find was from Los Angeles to Shanghai which can be had for $748 in Delta’s Premium Select. Even better, these are nonstop flights that’ll earn you 3,350 redeemable miles, along with 19,456 MQMs if you’re interesting in earning status with Delta. (n.b. click on the images below to view these flights on Google Flights).
You can also fly with Delta nonstop to Shanghai from Seattle for $986. This earns you more redeemable miles than the LAX flight (4,540), but fewer MQMs (17,170).
Delta doesn’t have a monopoly on the low Premium Economy prices. For example, Air China is offering nonstop flights from San Francisco to Beijing from only $836 round trip.
The east coast is getting a piece of the action too, courtesy of Lufthansa. You can fly Premium Economy round trip from Boston to Mumbai for less than $1,000, but note that there’s a stop in each direction. Despite Google Flights listing this price as being available on Orbitz, clicking through to them displayed a much higher cost. Priceline didn’t have the $960 price either, but it was available for $977, so only a little more expensive.
There are many other city pairings for $1,000-$1,200, so have a play around with cities and dates on Google Flights to try to find something that works for you if you’re interested. The TPG post on this includes some of those options, but note that they’ve included some Economy Delight flights on Virgin Atlantic which I think are more like Comfort+ on Delta than actual Premium Economy.
Prices to go down …due to Coronavirus fear?
SYD SMOKE !!
These low LAX-PVG fares for DL have been around a while – booked a spring break trip for the family LAX-HND in DL comfort+ for 20k SkyMiles each and PVG-LAX in PS for cash (Love that these fares work 1-way, too!)
