Southwest is out with another sale, this time giving up to 40% off base fares for travel this fall and winter when using promo code LUVFALL.

Quick Thoughts

Although there are several blackout dates, it’s great that this sale covers a period of five months over late summer, fall and early winter.

The 40% discount isn’t available on all dates and routes, but it’s worth checking out pricing for any travel you have planned through late January in case this will save you money. Just bear in mind that you now have to pay for assigned seating unless you have status, have a Southwest credit card or book a fare type that includes selecting your own seat.

I do not have a SWA credit card, but my wife does. I will be using points from my “Rapids Rewards” account to book the flight for both of us. Will we be able to get free checked bags?
