[…] year, between 12/6/2015 and 12/25/2015, Sears and Kmart offered a $10 eAward card for each $50 gift card purchase. I don’t know if they’ll run this promotion again, but its worth waiting to see. […]
I purchased 2 of these and never received any award cards, what gives?
So these eAwards, can they be used in-store to buy visa gift card, then liquidate those gift cards through Serve?
Did anyone receive the bonus egift card? I received the $100 one that I bought, but no mention of the bonus one.
A few years ago, before my eyes were even opened to “MS” or even the value of “Miles and Points” and Credit Card Bonuses I made a solo effort at this exact same promotion with Sears (same timing even).
As many here have probably done, I purchased multiple $100 GC’s in separate transactions and expected the bonus cards to come. I received the cards I paid for, but only a couple of the “Bonus Cards” (I spent thousands so the shortfall was in the $100’s).
I cannot overstate the level of incompetence of the Sears Customer Service experience that followed. Dozens of hour+ hold times, inconsistent information, clarifying terms to the rep only to have them restate the incorrect information 5 minutes later, account notes “disappearing”, and every time a “promise” that my bonus cards were on the way. They would claim the GC’s came from a different department who was “behind” – when I got savvy tot that line of bull I started asking to be transferred to that department who (shocker) weren’t behind – they just had no “proof” that I was owed anything and (you guessed it) said I needed to work with Customer Service to correct the issue (who would then tell me I have to work with the Gift Card Department). It took a Head Supervisor and a laundry list of documentation of the entire process (weeks) to finally get the Bonus Cards.
All that is to say, in answer to the question – I recommend not taking the “it’s probably on its way” path that I took. Might as well decide NOW if it’s worth your trouble now and either get started on trying to pin them down or walk away now before you invest hours of your time.
I just got a bonus egift card worth $130. I’ve bought a total of 8 $100 gift cards and one $50 gift card (over a couple of days), so I’m expecting a total of $170 in promo egift cards. Hopefully the other $40 will arrive soon.

What is the current status of Discover cashback on the purchase of Sears gift cards? I bought a couple hundred worth in October and I’m pretty sure the cashback didn’t track. I was going to call Discover about it.
Obviously, with the various bonuses, this would be a phenomenal Discover deal — if it tracked.
If I’m reading this correctly, the “bonus cards” are one per transaction, not one per person or household…right?
Also, I know “officially” Sears/KMart are no longer giving points through travel portals for gift cards, but I remember hearing rumors a while back that they actually still are. Has anybody confirmed whether they actually did or did not cut that off?
Correct. Based on the terms you should be able to earn multiple bonus cards in multiple transactions.
Any guess if this eAward would also be given on gift card reloads?
I’m not sure, since it isn’t clear in the terms. You can definitely ask Sears/Kmart or try to do a load.
Seems we can stack this to get quadrupal dip with TopCashBack/Discover/Cartera? Thanks.
If the portal pays on gift cards then that should work.
