“Delivery may take up to 24 hours. Please note that there may be a delay of 2-4 hours from delivery before the Gift Card can be redeemed on eBay.”
UPDATE: I just placed an order for an eBay eGift card and received an email saying that expected delivery is Monday.
UPDATE 2: I received the e-gift card already! So, the double dip works! However, I can’t use the code yet (need to wait 2 to 4 hours).
Also, check your email to see if you were targeted for extra eBay Bucks which will be earned with the purchase of the Sears gift cards (but not the purchase of eBay gift cards). Update: Oops, looks like 4X eBay Bucks offer ended yesterday.

For some reason the system will not let me pay for a Sears GC with an eBay GC – bummer!
Had already eBay e-giftcards linked to my account and tried to use them for the purchase of the limit of 3 – just like you described above – and everything showed fine until I got to PayPal checkout where I got the following message: “There is a problem with the following redemption code(s): X-xxxx,X-xxxx,X-xxxx. They can’t be used for this purchase. Your other discounts can still be used for this purchase.”

Strange. I used ebay gift cards to buy 2 of them (note limit was 2, not 3, I believe)
Another potential problem is using the Sears gift cards for purchases of, say, $200 Visa GCs or MasterCard GCs in store. Some Sears cashiers and most Kmart cashiers refuse to accept Sears GCs to purchase third party GCs. See the fine print on the back of the Sears GC. You could wind up with a stack of Sears GCs that could be used only to buy Sears or Kmart merchandise. YMMV of course.
Ditto. I use to scramble for Sears cards – then they stopped allowing me to buy gift cards with giftcards.
Anyone need 1K in Sears?
Problem is where to use sears gift cards and I don’t want to wait very long as I fear sears bankruptcy sometime in the future.
When/if Sears declares bankruptcy, your gift card doesn’t become valueless and it doesn’t mean they can reject the gift card as tender. They won’t close the stores on the day they declare. You will have amply time to buy whatever it is you need to buy at Sears.
