Quick Thoughts

The list of Spontaneous Escapes changes each month and you have a relatively small window in which to book them and travel. There aren’t any cities in North America included on this month’s list, but some of the destinations are worth being aware of it you’re planning on visiting Europe, Asia, Africa or Australia.

For example, flights from Adelaide or Brisbane to Singapore are only 19,600 miles in Economy or 43,400 in Business Class (both one-way). Those flights take 7-8 hours, so potentially represent a good use of miles.

Flights to and from Johannesburg (a ~10.5 hour flight) are 17,500 miles in Economy and 34,300 miles in Business Class, while Singapore to Frankfurt or Dusseldorf costs 64,400 miles in Business Class (flights to Frankfurt are also available in Economy for 26,600 miles).

Note that blackout dates apply and only specific flight numbers are included; thankfully the Spontaneous Escapes landing page makes all those details clear.
