Staples is offering a 20% discount on $50 Gap gift cards this week, although it only appears to be for in-store purchases. This can be stacked with category bonuses or Amex Offers for an even better deal.
The Deal
- Get 20% off $50 Gap gift card.
Key Terms
- Expires August 25, 2018.
Quick Thoughts
When Staples sold discounted Gap gift cards in the past, the same deal often showed up on their website. Sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case this time, so you’ll have to take a trip to a store to take advantage of this offer.
If you have a Chase Ink card that earns 5x / 5% at office supply stores, that’s one option for maximizing this deal. Alternatively, there are a couple of Staples Amex Offers – one for $5 off $25 and another for 10% off. If you’re only buying one gift card, the $5 off $25 Amex Offer will get you a better discount than the 10% off.
There are no specified restrictions regarding how many discounted Gap gift cards you can buy with this offer. I’d never taken advantage of this type of offer in the past as we used to live too far from a Staples store to make it worth the drive. Does anyone know if you have to buy cards in separate transactions in order for the 20% discount to be triggered on each card, or if you can buy as many cards as you like in one transaction and save 20% on each of them?
Do the cards have an expiration date? No one at staples seems to know. Even the store did not know that the cards where on sale!
No, gift cards like this don’t have an expiry date.
Bought 10 with one transaction. No problem getting the discount. Used Blue Biz for extra 10% off.
Same – did 18 in one transaction; no problemo.
Great – thanks for confirming.
