I returned them to staples, they knew of the problem. Gave me new GC’s that were active.

I had the same issue of gift cards not activating. I bought 2 cards, none active after 24hrs. Then 1 active after 36hrs, second card still not active.

This has never happened to me before with Staples so I did not see this coming. Call the number on the back, they ask to fax in a bunch of info and 7 to 10 day turnaround. I will wait another day to see if the second card will become active before faxing in.

Hopefully it works out but Staples really dropped the ball on this one.

Matt

I bought $400 (2 x $200) from my local staples in NYC yesterday. I’ve had the cards for more than 24 hours (the receipt says to allow 24 hours for activation), and they still have not activated. I called the mastercard phone reps a few times, and they said that the cards weren’t activated correctly on staples end, and that i could fax (ha) MC the receipt and some other info, and they would activate them for me.

Has this ever happened to anyone before? I hit these deals all the time and have never encountered this. total PITA.

Matt

Thanks for the quick reply, glad (but also not glad) that it isn’t just me. Any word on whether they will spontaneously activate, and if so, when? I guess it’s a moot point since I already faxed in all the info to have MC activate them, but just curious. Going out of country towards the end of the month and am hoping to load them to redbird before i go.

Matt

Right on, thx

Local stapes is worthless, stopped by and they had exactly one of the $200 GC in stock, I think they pulled them off, they had 100’s a week ago, going to pass on this deal

steven
