There is a targeted email going out with an offer for up to 65,000 bonus miles for opening a new Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa SIgnature card and meeting minimum spending requirements. That’s a really valuable offer given Alaska’s generous award chart.
The Deal
- Bank of America is sending out a targeted email offering up to 65,000 bonus miles when you open a new Alaska Airlines Visa Signature account and meet the following spend thresholds:
- Get 40,000 bonus miles after spending $2K within the first three months
- Get an additional 25,000 bonus miles after spending $9K or more on total purchases within the first six months
- Email subject line says, “Exclusive: Up to 65,000 bonus mile offer for [Name]”

Quick Thoughts
Again, this is a targeted offer, so you’ll need to receive the email in order to access it. That said, if you have received the offer and can meet the spend, I think this one is well worth consideration.
The current standard offer on this card has been 40,000 miles and a $100 statement credit after $2K spend in the first 3 months. Given that Alaska is not a transfer partner with any major currency other than Marriott, it is not particularly easy to generate Alaska miles en masse. The ability to pick up an additional 25K for an additional $7K in spend is a solid deal in my opinion.
After meeting minimum spending requirements here and assuming you make those purchases at 1x, you would have 74K Alaska miles. That’s more than enough for one-way first class to Asia on Cathay Pacific or Japan Airlines or enough for one-way first class to Africa on Cathay Pacific — and keep in mind that Alaska allows a stopover on a one-way award. If you can find availability, it’s enough for first class to Australia on Qantas or business class to Australia on Fiji Airways, Qantas, or Cathay Pacific.
I recently flew Cathay Pacific business class from Singapore to Hong Kong to Newark and flew a few family members for 50K Alaska Airlines miles plus $92 per passenger. Getting enough miles from this bonus to do that one way and have a bucket of miles left over is a pretty great deal in my opinion. Alaska has plenty of other sweet spots (see Alaska’s partner award charts for more), so I think this offer is worth consideration if you have it available and have a use for the miles.

I got a mailer a few weeks ago for the 40K offer and decided to call and see if I could get upgraded to the 65K offer. That didn’t work, but the rep said that the 65K offer is currently targeted at California residents only, either via email or via the BofA app. Does that line up with what others have experienced?
He said that on 12/4, there is going to be another mailing which might extend beyond California. I’ll sit tight and wait.
Received a targeted offer but will skip for future target. I do not plan to travel this year or next and have adequate cc to use. Travel with Alaska Airlines once a year on revenue ticket. Had their cc a decade and half ago but canceled it a decade ago. I assume I am still in B of A system.
Got targeted. 65k for $8,000 total spend. Too bad I know 100% I won’t get approved due to a blemish in my credit history. Wish my wife would have gotten targeted instead we would have applied in a heart beat.

If u want it that bad call maybe u can make a deal deal . A lower credit line or switch it to wife . I got many HL’s by dealing with ” The Banks ” . I helped a local get a HL with a BK on his report.

how do you get the standard 40k miles PLUS $100 statement credit? all the offers I see is 40k plus companion ticket ($99) or like 44k at the airport. don’t see $100 statement credit one.
I know last year they offered one with $0 companion ticket and I got my parents to apply for a pair and my spouse… which is probably her 10th 🙂
