Delta is sending out targeted emails offering up to 75,000 SkyMiles as a signup bonus when applying for the Gold Delta American Express credit card. Even better, the offer comes without the once-per-lifetime language.
The Deal
- Earn up to 75,000 bonus SkyMiles when applying for the Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card.
- Direct link to see if you’re targeted.
Key Terms
- Earn 50,000 SkyMiles when spending $2,000 in the first three months, then a further 25,000 SkyMiles after spending an additional $1,000 in the first six months.
- Expires February 20, 2019.
Quick Thoughts
This is an excellent deal if you’re targeted as it’s a higher total bonus than is normally offered for the Gold Delta card. $3,000 of spend in six months should be achievable for most people (albeit with $2,000 of that needing to come in the first three months), while the lack of once-per-lifetime language makes the offer even better.
I sadly wasn’t targeted, otherwise I’d be jumping on this. I’ve had this card before so it’d be nice to get another signup bonus.
If you are targeted, it looks like this offer is available for both the personal and business version of the card. The link takes you to the personal card application – just click on ‘Looking for a business card?’ and it’ll switch to the business card application.
I’m already having this card, but using the target link I still see a 60k offer. Can I keep my current one and apply again? I don’t want to(cannot) close current one because it’s less than a year old.
.
The link above didn’t work for me, but I just logged into my Delta account and there was an ad for this offer.
I signed up in September for the 60,000 point offer. Do they ever match the signup bonus after the fact?
I don’t think so and I doubt they’d match it three months after the event. Having said that, it’s certainly worth trying – the worst they can do is say no.
I didn’t know about this and applied (and got approved) literally couple hours before the ad was up on the delta page. I haven’t yet received the credit card in hands and will very likely meet the requirements for bonus miles. Do you think they would give me the 75,000 miles perks? If not, would you let me know how I should try talking with them? Thank you!
I’d start off by using their online chat function to see if they’ll match it – that way you’ll have it in writing if they agree. I think I’ve seen elsewhere though that their online agents aren’t able to match (although I might be mistaking them with another company), so if they say no then give Amex a call.
Thanks Stephen. I chatted with someone at Amex and provided an offer code and they gave me this response,
“I have submitted the investigation request for you to see the better offer can be applied on your card. It can take up to 6-8 weeks.”
So now I wait
Good luck! Let us know how it goes once they’ve made a decision.

If you log into Delta.com and click on their link looking for info at credit cards, it’ll give you Delta offers with no Lifetime Language. I can get the Delta Gold 30k miles no Lifetime Language directly through their site….obviously that’s a low offer, and you can probably earn more if you simply self-refer. Just pointing it out for others
That’s interesting that you’re getting an offer with no lifetime language. When I do the same thing, the first line of the offer terms says ‘Welcome offer not available to applicants who have or have had this Card.’ I guess that might be targeted too.
Would you recommend applying for both personal and business at the same time?
I think you can only get approved for one card every five days, but with an expiry date of February 20, that gives plenty of time to apply for one now and one in the future. Having said that, there’s no guarantee the targeted link will still work once you’ve applied for a card, but I’d imagine it would.
I am a little late on this… can I apply for personal card today (hopefully get approved) and then apply for the biz card on the 20th which would go into pending and then would be approved a few days later? would the offer still stick to the application?
Thanks.
If you were targeted for this 75k offer, the offer should stick if you apply for it now. With the biz card, I don’t know if it automatically goes to pending when applying within 5 days or if it gets auto-declined.
My wife is targeted for this, but she has not gotten a Delta Gold before. I think it’s better if she self refers from BGR (20k MR) for the 60k Gold Delta, then maybe apply later for the targeted offer before it expires?
In theory that does sound like a better option, but there are a couple of things to consider. I checked the referral offer for the personal Gold Delta card earlier and it showed as 50,000 miles for me, so I’m not sure if the BGR card would offer a higher signup offer.
I’m also a little cautious about self-referring to Amex cards given how much they’ve been cracking down on what they see as gaming. I’ve not seen any data points of them clawing back referral bonuses yet, but I wouldn’t put it past them. If I’d been targeted, I’d be more inclined to get a referral offer from my wife than myself, although if you don’t have the BGR then you’d be having to settle for a lower referral offer.
All that being said, if she hasn’t had the card before then it would make sense to apply for the card with once-per-lifetime language and then hope that she’s targeted again in the future with an offer with no once-per-lifetime language..
Does a $50 Delta eGift cars trigger the $50 credit?
Yep! If you book an award ticket then the $5.60 tax/fee also triggers it, but a gift card also does the trick.
Thanks for the $50 statement credit reminder. Applied for both targeted offers on 11/13. Spend complete. 150k posted. Had the personal Delta Gold just earlier in the year, closed around May, so everything worked out well. Now to pick up a couple $50 GCs 🙂
