Targeted 90K Membership Rewards points offer

6

Earlier, we reported an increased public offer on the Amex Business Gold card. A friend then pointed out that redditors had reported a fantastic targeted offer out on the Business Gold that’s good for 90,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $10,000 on eligible purchases in the first three months. While those playing in 2-player mode may come out a bit better off with referral points, this deal could certainly be very attractive for some.

Quick Thoughts

This is a terrific offer for the Business Gold card and the additional 20K points offered here over the public offer certainly may be worth more to some folks than the $150 credit for US shipping purchases and $150 credit for US advertising purchases that are found on that public offer.

If you are playing in 2-player mode and have never had the Business Gold card before, you may be better off having Player 1 refer Player 2 to pick up even more total points between the two of you. However, one nice thing about the targeted offer above is that it looks like there is no lifetime language in the offer. It’s always worth double checking the terms before you apply, but that might make a difference for some folks.

As noted above, after clicking through to open the page and clicking “Add Business Gold”, you will be prompted to log in to see if you are eligible for the offer. If you receive a message saying the offer is no longer available or you get redirected to other offers, you are not targeted.

Keep in mind that an advantage here is that this card won’t add to one’s 5/24 count and it provides a nice bonus.

I’ve been wondering about my offer on my Business Blue card to take out the Business Gold, 90K SUB w/$10K spend. Wondering is because back in January I was offered to upgrade my old Business Gold to Platinum, 85K SUB w/$10K spend. I’ve read several times the terms and no language on having the card before. Offer expires end of June. Seriously thinking of taking out the card again. So I will have my original 50K Gold Business SUB + Platinum Business upgrade 85K SUB + 90K Gold Business #2 SUB = 225K all in less than one year. Fees for Gold #1 and Platinum upgrade worked out very good prorated. Concern is paying for another Gold, but for 90K, pretty hard to walk away. For me a card has to earn its keep.

I currently hold a Business Gold and this offer popped up for me too. No lifetime language… so I took it! Applied and approved. Interestingly, this application triggered a hard pull. And after approval, I got errors adding the card to my User ID. I had to initiate a chat, and the issue was manually fixed. I also notice that when I open the “rewards” tab on the 2nd business gold account – it shows I have zero MR points. (I have over 600K). I think this offer is forcing some kind of user ID override… the downside is — it might trigger a hard pull. This was quite surprising to me since I hold 10 Amex cards. But, I can confirm that you can have 2 business golds. I can’t confirm the offer is on my account until 72 hours after approval, but I didn’t receive any kind of pop up.

Interesting. Currently, hold the Platinum Business which was an upgrade offer from my Business Gold. Took the offer back in January so I do not hold a Gold. To me this is what is strange. Got rid of the Gold via an upgrade and now you want me to have the Gold back? Again all within really about 9 months. I took the upgrade of course for the 85K and 10K spend and the tremendous prorating the annual fee. The Gold just seem not to be worth it. Now to reverse that and get another Gold? That’s the part I have to get over and justify the annual fee.

Keeps saying when I go to apply that offer is no longer available. (But I can still apply fir the card). I’ve had B’ness Gild in past. Three or four years ago.
