Best Western has launched a promotion which – by their standards – is actually somewhat good. It likely won’t entice many people to book with them, but it’s a nice reward if you were already planning a stay at a Best Western property, especially because it’ll stack with another of their promotions.

Quick Thoughts

As mentioned earlier, by Best Western’s standards this is a fairly good offer, although that still isn’t saying much. To the best of my knowledge, Best Western award nights start at 8,000 points per night, so you’d need to stay at one of their properties for 8 nights during this promotion in order to earn enough bonus points for a free night at one of their lowest category properties. That doesn’t take into account the base points you’d earn by earning 10 points per dollar of the room rate, so in reality you’ll likely earn a free night after 6 nights or so when taking adding those together.

That’s therefore not going to do much to encourage people to book Best Western stays, although it’s a nice bonus to have if you were planning on staying with them anyway.

Best Western being Best Western, they couldn’t help but put restrictions on the promotion which limit its desirability. For starters, the promotion might be targeted, as indicated by the wording regarding pre-selected Best Western members.

If you were targeted, you have to register for the promotion. Once you’ve registered, you only have until November 4 (i.e. 3 days) in which to make your reservation(s) which is only good for stays this month rather than beyond. Oh, and it’s only good on stays in the US, Canada and Caribbean Islands, although that’s less of an issue compared to normal given international travel is somewhat restricted right now.

If this promotion does work for you though, click through from a shopping portal to earn additional cashback or rewards – you can find the current rates here and here. There are Best Western Amex Offers and Chase Offers, so those can save you more. There’s also a separate Best Western promotion offering $25 bonus cards for every night you stay through November 23, with a limit of 4 $25 cards.

Yeah the only issue is that Best Western points are only worth their weight in hot garbage
