Quick Thoughts

There are some fantastic rates here. The AARP deal will be a slight money maker as the $66 is payable on a 5 year AARP membership which costs $63. An AARP membership can be well worth having due to all the other ways it can help you save and you can be any age to get one.

24% cashback on Sixt rentals is an excellent return, as is 22.5% for taking out a Sam’s Club membership. 12% for IHG is a sweet deal seeing as it seems to be valid on all their brands, not only on Iberostar which is the only brand available at the highest rate through some other shopping portals.

If you were planning on subscribing to Intuit Mailchimp for email service, earning 127.5% cashback is fantastic. I’m assuming that’s only on your first month’s payment though rather than on an ongoing basis.

These higher rates through Capital One Shopping are usually available on a targeted basis, but it doesn’t seem too hard to get yourself targeted. Just make sure you’ve got their browser extension installed, click around on the sites you’re interested in making a purchase from and then give it a day or two. You’ll then hopefully either get an email from Capital One Shopping offering higher rates or you’ll see higher rates listed on the home page of the shopping portal. There’ll sometimes be different rates displayed for the same retailer, so be sure to check them all. To filter for companies, on the home page click ‘Filters’ and then start typing the company name in the ‘Merchants’ field.
