Targeted Marriott Bonvoy promotions have been rolling out to earn additional bonus points and/or free night certificates with paid stays. I got one in my account that I intend to mattress run as I can pick up 22,500 points for a pretty low price, but some people have seen even better offers. It’s worth checking your account to see what you’ve got.

Quick Thoughts
You’ll find your targeted Marriott Bonvoy promotions under the “promotions” tab in the app or in your online account. If you’re using the Marriott app, you’ll click “Account” in the bottom right corner and then scroll down to “promotions”. If you’re using the desktop website, click the down arrow next to your name and then you’ll see “promotions” down the list of options.
My wife came up totally empty in her account — it just says that they’re still working on adding promotions when she goes to the promo tab.
However, I had a new promotion show up yesterday under my account as shown in the screen shot above. As you can see, I can earn 7,500 bonus points after my first paid stay and 15,000 additional points after my second paid stay. I don’t have any intention to stay in a hotel right now, but I have a Marriott nearby that costs $50 per night ($54 with tax). For $108 total over two stays, I’ll end up with more than 24,000 total points (22.5K from this promotion + 1,750 from earning 17.5x on the $100 paid rate as a Titanium member). That is mattress run-worthy to me as I can put 24K points to use to book a few Category 1 nights on 2021 road trips and save well more than $100. I’ll book through a shopping portal to mitigate some of the tax.
Some offers may be even better. For example, one member of our Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group reports receiving this offer for 4,500 bonus points after two paid stays plus 2 free night awards for 2 paid nights.
The free night certificates with this offer are valid for a night costing up to 35K points and are valid for 6 months from issuance, so those limits may not appeal to those who won’t be traveling right away to use them (though the reader who got it notes that it ends 3/31/21, so you could either wait to register or wait to meet the stay requirement to have certificates valid for a longer stretch into 2021.
Others reported offers like double points on weekend nights or 4K bonus points after first weekend stay, 6K after a second weekend stay, and 8K after a third weekend stay. I’d be less likely to go after that offer, but if you have plans that fit the offer it obviously makes sense to register.

How targeted is this? Nothing for me or the Mrs. on this one. Which is a bummer, because I have paid stays coming up next week.
another DP for the 4K/6K/8K after each stay that includes a weekend night. Of course the only stay I currently have booked is Sunday/Monday!
Got 1sr stay get a free night and 2nd stay get additional free night
I have just the 9k offer, but I do need 3 nights for Platinum. Trying to work the math on whether to book paid stays or do points savers at 8k. I had good luck with portals like topcashback except for AAA Hot Deals. Maybe I will try United for that one based on your previous experience. https://frequentmiler.com/marriott-portal-experiments-which-rates-qualify-for-cash-back-or-rewards/
Nothing for P1 or P2. P2 checked in a Fairfield yesterday for a 6 night stay to hit Titanium.
I need three stays for 22K points. No thanks. Though, I believe there’s currently an amex offer for marriott that can mitigate some of the cost.
Found my promotion already 10 days ago or so… It’s two free night certificates (up to 35k redemption value) for two stays (and the first one already after the first stay). Was nice as I was booked on a Marriott property last weekend anyway!
Nick my offer only included weekend stays till 3/21/2021. First night you get 4K points for a weekend. Ugh this, 2nd weekend stay you get 6K points and 3rd weekend stay you get 8K. I so not stay weekends so I found this a very poor offer.
Meh, 9000 points after three paid stays.
I got the 2 FN with 2 stays offer. What’s the max you would pay to mattress run that?
That totally depends on my plan for the certificates.
Ultimately, you get 35K free night certs with credit cards that cost ~$95 per year, so my first inclination is not to go wildly above that.
However, with a good redemption in mind, I could see $150 being reasonable or *maybe* even a bit more. The problem is that these certs are only valid for 6 months, which limits their utility given how difficult it is to predict the travel landscape over that time period. In my opinion, many of the best 35K properties are in Europe, where it isn’t hard to save $250 or more with a cert like that. Within the US, Greg has previously valued the certs at a bit over $200 each (See this post: https://frequentmiler.com/what-are-marriott-35k-certificates-worth/).
But it’s hard to tell you what kind of redemption value you will get. In Greg’s case for example he has a 35K cert a few hours from home that he loves to visit each year in the summertime when rates can at times climb above $400 per night. In that situation, I’d probably be happy to pay a bit more for the certificate knowing that I had a good “backup plan” in my own back yard. In my case, I don’t have the same type of 35K property nearby, so I’d be less enthusiastic about overpaying for a cert.
Keep in mind that you’re buying a certificate that is only valid for 6 months. You obviously wouldn’t pay $199 for a $200 voucher that has to be used within 6 months or it is lost because of the risk of losing all your money. If you agree with the ~$200 valuation of a cert, you’d want to pay significantly less for one in any case and even more so given that it’s only valid for 6 months.
I say figure out your “backup plan” use and an intended use or two that beats that and then pay significantly less than you’d pay for the backup plan. That number is different for different people.
I got a $75/night local option here, so was planning to do that, but was really hoping to find an organic use. In any case, I’ll probably wait until February to delay the 6 month expiration and to see if I find any organic uses first.
Got 2 free night certs up to 35k after two paid stays. 1 free night after first stay, 2nd after 2nd. 6 month expiration. Ends 2/28/21. I’m lifetime titanium with multiple stays in the past three months.
Same
Meh..12K for 2 stays. Not really worth it.
Same.
