Turkish Airlines award sale: Fly Dallas to Istanbul for 20,000 miles in economy (book by 9/25)

4

Evert month Turkish Airlines runs an award sale that gives a 50% discount on economy flights between Istanbul and two cities elsewhere in the world. This month one of those two cities is Dallas, giving the opportunity to book award flights for 20,000 miles each way.

The Deal

  • Save 50% on economy awards between Dallas and Istanbul when booking via Turkish Miles & Smiles.
  • Direct link to terms.

Key Terms

  • Book by September 25, 2024.
  • Valid on flights October 1, 2024-March 31, 2025.

Quick Thoughts

Turkish Airlines devalued its loyalty program back in February, destroying most of its sweet spots. Saver awards to Europe in economy used to cost 30,000 miles one-way, with the award chart changes increasing the cost to 40,000 miles one-way.

That means that with this limited time promotion giving 50% off, you only have to redeem 20,000 miles each way between Dallas and Istanbul. There seems to be a decent amount of award availability, with most days having the 20,000 mile pricing for the dates I checked.

Whether you’ll want to fly in economy for 12 hours between these two cities is another matter though. If this award sale does appeal to you, you’ll need to be quick as flights have to be booked by tomorrow night (Wednesday September 25), although it’s valid on flights from October 1 through March 31.

I happened to be searching for DTW-MXP and Turkish was pricing at $554 Economy and $2500 in biz for some dates in November.

Amron

is there a way to pay for an upgrade to PE or Biz with miles or cash after purchasing a ticket like this?
