- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms

Quick Thoughts
Flying across the Pacific to Tahiti, Australia or New Zealand in economy isn’t going to be the most comfortable experience you’ll ever have, but for only 30,000 or 40,000 MileagePlus miles it might be worth it for some people, especially if you’re looking for award availability for several people.
Award availability does look like it could be good. For example, in late June/early July, there’s 40k availability from San Francisco to Sydney every day that week. That includes a nonstop flight between the two cities.
Note that you have to book by May 30, but travel dates can be from July 1 to December 12. Bear in mind that it’ll be winter and spring Down Under, so depending on where you visit the weather might not be as good as hoped for.
Is there any indication United might have regular promotions like Flying Blue does.
Not really. They seem to occasionally run deals, but not on a regular basis each month like Flying Blue Promo Rewards
Normal price, at least on routes I had been checking lately, was 49.5k. So it’s a savings, not spectacular but worth knowing about.
Last year at this time I booked United R/T from DCA to SYD for 30K each way for Oct 2023. That sale was open to all, not just United Card holders. So this year it’s both more restrictive and more expensive (40k each way.)
Ugh, this is just the pre-devaluation price.
