New United Mile Play Offers: See If You’re Targeted For Bonus Miles

United has released another round of targeted Mile Play offers, and in some cases, they’ll be easy to complete. I was targeted for 5,900 bonus miles after taking 1 trip.

Key Terms

• Member must register for this promotion on or prior to June 9, 2026
• Only transactions initiated after registration and completed on or prior to June 9, 2026 will qualify toward satisfaction of the offer requirements.
• All flight activity for the applicable Trip must be complete on or prior to June 9, 2026.
• Each Trip must have a fare equal to or greater than $225.
•  “Trip” is defined as each unique travel itinerary as documented by United with a confirmation number.
• For this promotion, only dollars spent on the “fare” on eligible flights operated by United® and United Express® will qualify toward meeting spending milestones.
• Certain specialty tickets, including but not limited to unpublished, consolidator/bulk, group, tour and opaque fares, will not be counted towards spending milestones.
• Dollars spent on tickets purchased for flights operated by Star Alliance™ member airline or a United MileagePlus® partner airline with tickets issued by United (ticket number starting with “016”) will not qualify for this offer.
• The “fare” is the base fare of the ticket plus carrier-imposed surcharges, excluding any government-imposed taxes and surcharges. For tickets purchased in a currency other than U.S. dollars, we will convert the purchase to U.S. dollars using an industry-standard exchange rate.
• Flights on award travel tickets do not qualify for meeting the requirements of this offer.
• Bonus miles will post to your MileagePlus account six to eight weeks after the promotion ends on June 9, 2026.

Quick Thoughts

Mile Play offers vary from person to person – if you’re even targeted – so there’s not one single offer that’s applicable to everyone. It seems like, more and more, they send out offers in waves as opposed to all at once. My offer gives 5,900 bonus miles after taking one “trip” with United by June 9th. A “trip” is defined as a flight that costs more than $225, and one-way flights count.

There are a couple of important things to keep in mind when it comes to United Mile Play offers. The first is that the spending threshold for the flight(s) you need to take relates to the fare itself. There are various taxes and fees added when booking paid flights, so in my case, the fare and carrier-imposed surcharges portion has to be at least $225, not including government-imposed taxes and fees… but your spending threshold might be higher or lower.

The other key thing to note is that qualifying flights must be booked after you’ve registered for the promotion. Nick once booked a United flight just a couple of days before being targeted for MilePlay. However, because that flight was booked before he registered for his Mile Play offer, it wasn’t eligible as a qualifying flight to meet the offer requirements. Thankfully, that was easy to remedy; the price hadn’t changed, so he was able to cancel and rebook to earn the bonus miles from the flight.
