Some people are finding that they are targeted fir an offer of up to $400 back on the Amex Blue Cash Preferred Card split up as a $200 statement credit after $3K in purchases in the first 6 months and 20% back on purchases at Amazon.com for the first six months (up to $200 back). That means you could get up to $400 back, which is a very good return on the required spend.
Note that the current public offer on this card is for a $150 statement credit after $3K in purchases in the first six months. However, when I was checking links on our best offers page today after seeing a report from Danny the Deal Guru at Miles to Memories, I decided to test our link out in a few windows.
Sure enough, I saw the above offer for the increased statement credit when clicking through. It is a targeted offer, so not everyone will see it, but it’s always worth checking to see what is available. Considering the fact that you could earn the entire bonus with just $3K spend (assuming $1K in purchases at Amazon.com), this is a great return on spend on the Blue Cash Preferred. Unfortunately, it isn’t quite as good as the recently-expired offer that included the home furnishings credit, but this is the a solid offer for those who missed that. Considering the usual bonus categories on this card are plenty useful and the annual fee is waived the first year (then $95), this is a very solid offer for those who prefer cash back.
