The Virgin Atlantic Shops Away shopping portal is currently offering what’s purported to be double points at all retailers, both online and in-store. They appear to be using Wyndham math though because double points doesn’t appear to actually mean double points.

The Deal
- Earn double points both online & in-store via the Virgin Atlantic Shops Away shopping portal.
- Direct link to offer (you might need to switch from the UK store to the US store in the top-right corner).
- Direct link to terms & conditions.
Key Terms
- Expires November 16, 2025.
Quick Thoughts
This double points promotion seems to be valid at all stores on the shopping portal. However, I can’t work out how that doubling is supposed to work.
For some retailers it seems clear. For example, the Virgin portal was offering 9,056 points for Verizon, but it’s now 18,112 points. 18,112 is double 9,056, so sure – that makes sense.

Then we have Sur La Table. The normal rate is 4x, but right now it’s 9x. OK, so that’s better than 2x, but we’ll take it.

It gets better if you want to shop at Brahmin. What was 4x is now 12x. That’s a tripling of the previous rate, so it’s more than 2x, but it works in our favor.

Then we have other popular retailers. Bed Bath & Beyond was 6x and is now…6x. Similarly, Apple was 2x and is…2x still.

Perhaps the math not mathing shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Whenever the Wyndham shopping portal has run similar types of promotions, the math has never made sense with those either. Both the Wyndham and Virgin shopping portals are run by Collinson, so really we should probably be blaming this all on Collinson math, but that’s less fun.
Either way, I’m assuming that the rate you see on the portal is the rate that you’ll earn, rather than the Virgin portal doubling whatever the displayed rate is after your purchase. There are some good rates here nonetheless, such as up to 6x miles for Giftcards.com purchases, so it’s worth keeping an eye on this portal over the next few days in case the rates for retailers you’re interested in increase.
