Following my call for help last month, author and photographer J.M. Hoffman offered to contribute guest posts to this blog. His writing was excellent, and his photos were stunning. But.. his ideas didn’t really match the main focus of this blog: how to earn miles without flying. So, we decided to try something different. Rather than contributing to my daily posts, he will create destination guides with the heading “You’ve gotta see this!“. And I’ll advertise this content via short posts like this one.
The first “You’ve gotta see this!” guide is about Australian Wildlife. And, did I mention that the photos are stunning? Click here to check them out yourself.

The photos are outstanding. I definitely look forward to more of these. It seems to fit in with some folks’ desire to see more trip report-style pieces.
Thanks, LIsa!
I love this new series! The photos are wonderful. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks, Sandra!
Why do you need a 2nd or 3rd blogger on your site? In the past that blogger usually is inferior and posts a very vanilla blog post. Why cant you just write your own material and post it? Stay away from the sucky alt bloggers. Its dragging your blog down.
I’m not sure why you would care if this author publishes resource pages? They won’t show up in your RSS feed or email newsletters.
That said, the guest authors I’ve hosted so far have been terrific, in my opinion. Julian wrote the often hilarious and always informative “Bet you didn’t know” series (I’m very sorry to see him go!). And Alex continues to publish insightful articles about cases where our points & miles pursuit leads to court or arbitration in his “The Fine Print” series.
I guess BA is really hurting for clicks these days. Why not also start covering breaking politics news on here as well? Or celebrity gossip?
This used to be my favorite blog and I recommended it the newbies that wanted to dip their toes into the game. Then the (mostly) silly deal started and all the useless posts about this and that valuation and now this…
My understanding is that BA is doing very well. Regardless, whether or not BA is hurting for clicks doesn’t concern me, nor does it affect my publication decisions in any way.
