There is a new targeted offer out on some Chase cards that is good for 10% back at Wegmans grocery stores up to $12 back. Wegmans is a regional grocery store chain with locations in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia and North Carolina. I assume it is targeted to those living within a certain distance of a Wegmans store as I live in New York State but did not receive this offer on any of the cards in my household.

Quick Thoughts
A reader named Christine alerted us to this offer and let us know that she found it on 2 of her Chase cards. I receive Chase Offers for plenty of national chains that aren’t in my immediate vicinity, but apparently I live too far from a Wegmans to have been targeted for this one.
For those who do find the offer and live within the Wegmans footprint, this is a nice little bonus. I’ve always liked Wegmans stores (which is only somewhat influenced by the time in my childhood when I nearly won a Nintendo competition in a Wegmans store; pro tip: if you have to play Jordan vs Bird in one-on-one basketball, you go with Larry Bird because 3-pointers add up to 21 more quickly than acrobatic lay-ups). Wegmans also sells the usual assortment of gift cards, so you could use this offer to save 10% on just about anything. If you have the offer on a few cards, that might add up to be worth making a trip, particularly if you find the offer on a Freedom or Freedom Flex card given that grocery stores are 5x this quarter (on up to $1500 spend) — or 9x if you’re working on the current offer that adds 4x at grocery stores for the first year (on up to $12K spend) and stacking with the quarterly bonus.

Alex, I bought a $100 Amazon card at Giant Eagle with my Hyatt card via Paypal. I got $10 in my Paypal account right away. We’ll see if it triggers the Chase offer. It should.
