100% transfer bonus from Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG One Rewards

1

IHG One Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards are offering a 100% transfer bonus when transferring points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG One Rewards. This is the best transfer bonus I can ever recall from Chase to IHG, though it still isn’t an amazing deal.

The Deal

  • Get 100% bonus IHG One Rewards points when you transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG between August 16, 2025 and September 4, 2025

Key Terms

  • Valid from 12:00am ET on August 16, 2025 to 11:59pm ET on September 4, 2025.
  • Bonus points are awarded by IHG in your IHG One Rewards account after your transfer is complete

Quick Thoughts

A 100% transfer bonus sounds like a terrific deal on the surface as you could turn 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points into 2,000 IHG One Rewards points, effectively doubling your points total over the ordinary 1:1 transfer ratio.

However, as our Reasonable Redemption Value for IHG One Rewards points is only 0.61c per point, even the 100% transfer bonus here means that your expected reasonable redemption would get you around 1.22c per Ultimate Rewards point. That’s not terrible, but it is less value per point than our Reasonable Redemption Value for Chase Ultimate Rewards points (1.5c per point).

Furthermore, even though this is the best transfer bonus I can recall seeing from Chase to IHG, it is occasionally possible to effectively turn 1,000 Chase points into 2,000 IHG points, albeit indirectly. That’s because IHG occasionally sells points for 0.5c per point (including right now). When that sale is on, you could cash out Chase Ultimate Rewards points at $0.01 per point and use each penny to buy 2 IHG points, effectively turning each 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($10) into 2,000 IHG One Rewards points. You could do the same with any other currency that can be cashed out for a value of $0.01 per point (or use your cash back rewards similarly). Since we see that type of sale from IHG a few times per year, there isn’t necessarily a sense of urgency to take advantage of this transfer bonus.

That said, it is possible to get better value out of IHG points, particularly if you have the IHG Rewards Premier credit card and get the 4th night free on award redemptions. If you have a specific use in mind, this bonus could be worth considering. On the other hand, I wouldn’t recommend transferring speculatively.

with how little IHG points are worth, 1:2 should be the minimum regular rate. even then it’s hardly worth it without bonuses on top of that.
same goes for Hilton. although HH points are worth even less than IHG, to be fair.
