Quick Thoughts
It’s great to see IHG back at 10% / 10x back. Keep in mind that you do not need to make a prepaid booking to earn the rewards — a rate you pay at the hotel is fine (rewards through Rakuten will post at some point after checkout even if the stay is far in the future, you just need to make your reservation today after clicking through from Rakuten).
Dell will also be popular for those with credit card Dell credits to use. Note that this time around the 10x seems to be across the board. In recent promotions, we’ve seen a lower rate on laptops & servers, but that is not the case this time.
There are a number of popular fashion brands included and some stores that we don’t often see at 10x. I don’t think that Away (a popular luggage company) is on many other portals, so the 10x looks good there. Kroger is at 10x — note that I assume this will not work with online gift card purchases since I believe those are not processed by Kroger, but I imagine it would work for grocery pick up. Canon cameras is also at 10% / 10x, both for new and refurbished equipment. While that’s a smidge below the 15-month high of 12% / 12x, it is still very good if you’re shopping for Canon equipment.
You can even earn 10x / 10% back on Oreo cookies. Yep, you read that right. I had no idea that Oreo had a website, but you can indeed order custom Oreos and get 10x.
Am I the only one who has a problem with Rakuten tracking purchases? How long does it usually take to resolve missing cash back claims with them? tks!
If you book an award stay through IHG, will you receive cash back on incidental spend charged to the room?
