PointCard debit card is out with an offer to earn 10x on donations to support Ukraine. Specifically, they are offering 10x points (10% back) on purchases with International Rescue Committee, Airbnb (where some have been either booking rooms they don’t intend to use and/or booking rooms to host refugees), and Pleasures (which is donating 100% of their Ukraine fundraiser tee proceeds to UNICEF). You can get up to 5,000 points with each merchant through 3/16/22 (effectively $50 back on $500 with each merchant).

Quick Thoughts

I know that people may have strong opinions about the best ways to help, but please keep the comments section civil. This post isn’t meant to say that the above 3 methods are the best way to donate, I just thought it was noteworthy that PointCard is offering an awesome incentive to encourage people to do something. Whether you choose to donate this way or some other way or not at all is obviously your choice the same as it is a choice for others to make as they see fit. A quote often attributed to Teddy Roosevelt echoes a feeling I’ve had  these past few weeks: “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Kudos to PointCard for doing something.

You could also donate to Ukraine thru airbnb.org which might trigger the Capital One Venture X credit?

Patrick

Problem is that this may be like many of the other promotions they offer where they don’t reward the bonus points.
