Both the Upromise and Swagbucks shopping portals are offering 12% cash back today for IHG bookings. As a reminder, you would be clicking through a portal to the IHG website and booking direct, so this rebate stacks with your elite benefits and the rewards you earn from IHG, including their latest promotion.

Quick Thoughts
This is an excellent payout for direct IHG bookings. Keep in mind that you do not need to book a prepaid rate to take advantage of these payouts — a fully flexible rate that you pay at the hotel is fine, you just need to click through to book while they’re offering the increased payout and you would then qualify for the 12% back after you complete your stay.
There is no way to apply a portal payout to an existing booking — you would need to cancel and rebook to take advantage of the new rate, so be sure to check current rates.
It’s probably also worth checking Capital One Shopping to see if you have a targeted offer for IHG. We have sometimes seen offers of 18% or 24% back on IHG stays. My current Capital One Shopping offer for IHG is only 6% back, but YMMV. I do also have an offer for 21% back at TripAdvisor, which would make more sense than 12% back if you don’t value the benefits of booking directly with IHG and prices are the same.
Do note the exclusions — both portals exclude all Kimpton properties and a handful of other specific locations.
