Quick Thoughts
Walgreens sells a lot of plastic, so it should be easy to find whatever kind of retail medicine is necessary to treat your deal fever. This is a very easy win. I added my Freedom Unlimited card to my Google Pay in order to earn 3x at drugstores while I’m picking up my free money.

Has anyone actually had this work for them when buying gift cards?
For me at least, the offer now shows as max of $50 cashback. The promo seems otherwise the same.

I just add my CC and updated the app but I don’t see the offer…? Any idea?
I had two instances earlier this year in which Google Pay didn’t pay out on rewards that I had earned. Both related to a promotion with similar terms – 20% off up to $50 from REI. In the first instance, in a single transaction at REI I purchased two gift cards $100 and $150 – a single transaction, a single invoice – but it posted onto my card as two transactions. I had evidence of it being a single transaction in the receipt. Google only give me $20 for the $100 card, and customer service for Google Pay was totally useless, really slow to respond, and never addressed the fact that I made a single transaction. Then I purchased a second $250 gift card on my wife’s account before the deadline – but no reward issued, and the promotion had disappeared from her account and they said that the quantity had been reached.
So I am quite wary of Google Pay promotions…
Thanks. How do you sync up this offer? Do I need to add this offer to my Google Pay account?
I figured it out. Thanks.

Why does freedom unlimited earn 3x in Walgreens?
The Freedom Unlimited and Freedom Flex both earn 3x on drugstores (and dining) as a regular bonus category (since last year).

Wow thanks, always thought it is still 1.5x everywhere
Thanks. Buying GCs is a qualifying transaction?
There is nothing in the terms that would disqualify them.
