Beware that this offer with automatically set you up to use points at checkout, so be sure to change it to using 1 point unless you enjoy getting awful value for points. We have added this to our running list of Amazon Prime Day Deals 2021.

Quick Thoughts
This is a great deal particularly since Prime Day is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday and with it we will surely see a plethora of good deals at Amazon. Stacking this for an extra twenty bucks off will surely make for a great deal at 40% off. Note that this deal does of course work on third party gift cards, though I’ll probably look to use it on stuff on Monday or Tuesday.
One word of caution to repeat: note that this will set your preference to ThankYou points at checkout. Remember that you only want to use 1 Citi ThankYou point since you otherwise get awful value for paying with points at checkout. In my household, my wife and I mostly use the same Amazon account. I made sure to tell her about this deal before she accidentally placed an Amazon order and checked out paying with ThankYou points. One time previously I did not mention it and she caught it just before completing her (expensive) order. I’d not be happy to use a boatload of points in a bit order by mistake, so be sure to use this or alert anyone in your household who orders from the same account.

Bought a $50 Lyft card at a discount. I use these gift cards on long trips in lieu of airport parking.
Is there something I don’t know about these offers that i was only targeted once by Amex promo last year , should I unlink my MR earning cards from amazon?
Haven’t been able to use the chase one either?
It’s really random. I was just targeted for the 40%. I’d say I’ve been targeted at least three times in the past 18 months.
