Marriott is offering 20% off on up to $3,000 in gift cards via a possibly targeted email being sent to Marriott credit card holders. There is a unique code in the email that you’ll have to click through to get this discount, but this could be a very good deal.

The Deal

• Marriott is sending an email to cardmembers (possibly targeted?) that’s good for 20% off on Marriott eGift cards (up to $600 off of $3,000).
• Link in email is unique. The subject line of my email says: Unwrap Your Holiday Escape for 20% Less

Quick Thoughts

This is a great deal since it can apply to such a large quantity of gift cards. Marriott gift cards are usable at almost any Marriott property worldwide, so this could be a great way to save on a stay and/or incidentals far into the future.

Keep in mind that you can not use a gift card to pay a prepaid rate online, but rather you use them at checkout. I always head to the desk a few hours before I intend to check out because it is very common that employees do not know how to redeem the cards and it can take a while for them to figure it out. However, one thing I like about gift cards is that you can stack with shopping portal rewards by clicking through a portal to make your reservation and then paying with the gift cards at checkout.

Overall, this is a solid deal.
