Paypal Digital Gifts via eBay is offering Sears e-gift cards for 15% off. You can save an additional 1.5% by starting at either the BeFrugal or Top Cashback portals. In the past purchases from this merchant have earned 5X points with the Chase Ink.
eBay has also sent out a target promotion today to a lot of members offering 5X eBay Bucks (10% back). To see if you have been targeted, check your email or login to your eBay account.
With all of the discounts, the math looks like this:
- 2 x $100 Sears gift cards: $170
- – 1.5% cash back: -$2.55
- -10% eBay Bucks: $17.00
- Total cost: $150.45
- Possible UR points with Ink: 850
There is a limit of 2 x $100 cards per eBay user ID.

How long does it take for Sears portal purchases to post as cash back to my Discover card? I purchased a Sears GC a few days ago through the portal, and the 5% for the Sears purchase appeared today as cash back on my discover card, but the 10% for going through the portal has not posted. Is there any way to track that through discover deals?
Dumb question….How do you use the Ink card for the purchase if you have a paypal balance?
You can’t unfortunately. In order to use the Ink you will have to transfer out the Paypal balance.
I don’t care if it’s codes or cards…they still are good online and instore…or you can do store pickup. Only problem I have is that they limit you as to how many you can buy within a certain time frame. I bought $1,000 worth of digital gift cards by Paypal Digital Goods in one transaction a few weeks ago. Ever since, they won’t allow me to checkout anymore using paypal. No one at PayPal can tell me why, other than it might be that the fraud department is investigating and they can’t tell me how long it will take, if I will be reinstated or how to get ahold of anyone. My suggestion is don’t overdo the gift cards in one transaction like I did.
Justin, I have the same situation as you do. However, I didn’t buy a large amount worth of gift cards. I have called paypal numerous times and I get the same repeated story about how the transaction was flagged as fraudulent and that there is nothing they can do. Ever since I have not been able to make purchases from paypal_digital_gifts. I have made several large GC purchases from gift card mall and they all went through fine.
It is an irony that paypal system is preventing you to buy from their own digital store. Oh well….
