Welcome to our weekly list of what’s ending this week as well as a collection of some of the best ongoing deals around.
As the end-of-month is coming up not this week but next Monday, we only find one deal ending this week. Still, it may be wise to glance over the list of deals ending next week as well so you aren’t left at the last minute trying to take advantage of as many deals in the final hours next week. Without further ado, here are this week’s Last Chance Deals. Those are followed by deals that Won’t Last Long and our Other Limited-time Offers.
Deals in bold were posted this week.
Last Chance Deals |
Expiring Sunday, July 30th, 2017
- Amex Offer: $60 back on $300 or more at Hilton & Curio Collection (Expires 7/30/17)
Won’t Last Long |
- Amex Offers: Walmart.com & Jet.com Both of these offers expire on 7/31/17. The Jet offer disappeared from the sync list very quickly. If you’ve synced wither of these offers, be sure to use them before they are gone.
- Easy win: $160 in Visa Gift Cards for test drives
- $30 off $60 at Amazon for $0.01 in points: Not sure whether or not this one may still be working for some readers.
- Match to 105K-point IHG Offer: If you have recently applied for the IHG card under an offer worth less than 105K total, you may be able to match it to this excellent offer. This is as good as it gets with IHG, so take advantage while you can.
- $85 back on a $256 hotel booking (more for new users): This deal has no set expiration date, but surely won’t last forever.
- Big discounts on Google Express: The promotional value on this Groupon expires on 8/31/17. I’m surprised this one is still around and functioning. Get it while it lasts!
Other Limited-Time Offers |
Sign-up Bonuses
- New 50K offer, but I don’t recommend applying yet: Now that we know the details of the Prestige card, I think this one could be a consideration for some readers — especially those who are put off by the high spend requirement on the Prestige.
- 45K / 18K bonuses on Wyndham Credit Cards
- Bye bye Fairmont card. I hardly knew ya…: Not a signup bonus, but this seemed to fit with the credit card category. As of August 15th, the Fairmont card will be no longer and existing users will be product changed. Read on for more detail. (Expires 8/15/17)
- Up to 50,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points for student loan refinance: There is no set expiration date on this offer, but it is likely to be available for a limited time
- 50K easy American Airlines miles – increased Barclaycard Aviator offer: Another limited-time offer without a clear expiration. With only a single purchase and payment of the annual fee (that is to say no minimum spend amount required), this offer is a great deal. AA really seems to be promoting this offer — it was in the in-flight magazine and on the TV monitors on the plane — leading me to believe that this should be around for at least a month. Still, without knowing for sure I would encourage you to take advantage sooner rather than later if this is of interest.
- 60K American AAdvantage mile offers on both Citibusiness and personal AAdvantage Platinum Select
- Up to 75K United miles with targeted MileagePlus Explorer offer
- Better than Best Offers available for some cards

This is why this has become my go to address for all things points related. Clear concise answers with pointers for how to tweak things for more lucrative results. It’s great to see that that Chase allows one to apply for the CSP even though I’m currently a CSR cardholder. I can think of no possible explanation to give Chase as to why I’d want that card in conjunction with a CSR. I was concerned that Chase would view this as an obvious play at 50,000 points and not take to it kindly, as there’s zero benefit to spending on this over the CSR which I plan on holding on to. Keep up the awsome work. Thanks
Hi nick, I’m at 4/24 and really want the IHG card. I currently hold the CSR, FU, and F cards from Chase. I’m not a bussines owner, so no INK cards for me. I was hoping to open a CSP card and downgrade it to another Freedom for purposes of increasing my 5x category spend ability. My question is really two parts, #1 will Chase allow me to open a CSP if I already have a CSR?;and then how long would I need to wait before applying for the IHG card? I’m afraid I’ll have to wait too long and lose the bonus. Obviously long term I’d value the 50,000 point CSP bonus plus the ability to increase my Freedom 5x category spend a lot higher then the 100,000 point short term IHG opportunity
Hi Jay:
#1: Yes, you can have both a CSP and a CSR, no problem there.
#2: You can theoretically be approved for 2 Chase cards in the same day (and, in fact, at 4/24 some people report successfully opening two 5/24-limited cards on the same day).
I have absolutely no info about the expiration of the 105K IHG offer, but as the Marriott 100K offer lasted quite a while I would *think* you could wait a week or two and it would most likely still be around. That said, YMMV (and I’m not sure you need to wait).
On the business card note, no problem if you’re not interested in business cards, but many people do things like occasionally selling on eBay, writing a blog, or consulting that they may consider a business. You don’t need to have a full-time business in the sense of owning a factory in order to qualify for business cards. If you’re contemplating anything like that, I’d consider it before you eclipse 5/24. An Ink Cash would give you greater 5X bandwidth if you should decide to resell gift cards or something as a small side gig. And Ink Business Preferred should be able to be downgraded to an Ink Cash in the future. Again, understood if it doesn’t apply to you — but it’s something to think about when you’re at 4/24 since you presumably won’t have room to change your mind on that for a while.
Finally, you’re not wrong about the value of the CSP signup bonus vs the IHG signup bonus. And since the IHG is often available at 75-85K, you’re really only risking ~20K by waiting on it. To me, the true value of the IHG card is in the ongoing annual free night. The signup bonus is nice, and I’d rather have 105K than 85K….but I wouldn’t sweat it too much.
