Quick Thoughts
This deal started yesterday but will be on through this weekend provided you can find stock. It is best maximized by paying with a card that earns 5x/5% at office supply stores, such as the Chase Ink Plus or Chase Ink Cash. To maximize rewards and minimize activation fees as a percentage of cost, you would want to buy two $200 Five Back Visa Gift cards. Alternatively, you could buy one $100 gift card and one $200 gift card (or any other combination to reach $300 in gift cards), but activation fees will cumulatively make up a higher percentage of your purchase price and decrease or eliminate your profit.
$413.90 (2x $200 Five Back Visa Gift Cards + activation)
-$15.00
$398.90 + 1994.5 Ultimate Rewards OR $19.95 cash back
These Visa gift cards should be PIN-enabled, with the PIN being the last four digits of the card. For more information on these cards, see our Beginner’s Guide to Buying & Liquidating Visa and Mastercard Gift Cards.

Are there any OD/OMs in SE Michigan that let you buy variable loads?
I have not found any OD stores here in South Florida that will let me buy any variable amount cards (including these) with a credit card. Fixed amount V, AE, or MC ok. Always told cash or debit only. Has anyone in the area had better luck? We do not have OM here, they are all ODs now. Thanks.
Hello, does Office Max let you buy variable load Five Back Visa cards with a Credit Card? I know I have had trouble in the past, but havent tried variable load in awhile. Thank you.
The OM in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, certainly does.
A good contingent of attendees at the Chicago Seminars walked over to the Office Depot located next to the convention hotel, and were waiting when the doors opened at 10 AM Sunday. We all gathered around the gift card rack, and someone brought out several bundles of variable-value 5-off cards. These cards were only good up to $200, so you needed to purchase two to meet the requirements of the promotion.
As Nick has noted, there is an official limit of one GC per purchase. The store manager came out, probably wondering why the sudden crush of customers buying GCs. He reiterated to the cashiers the 1 GC limit, but was then persuaded to increase that to two.
This added a little extra fun and profit to the already-fun and profitable Chicago Seminars.
