When one door deal closes, another one opens. A status match promotion from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City offering up to two free nights recently ended, but they’ve launched a new and even more rewarding promotion in its place.

Quick Thoughts
This status match promotion is even better than the last one for a couple of reasons, so if that one didn’t entice you then this might draw you in.
First of all, there are additional benefits with this promotion. In addition to the free night(s), they’re also offering free game play, buffet passes (or lounge access) and comedy club tickets. As with the previous promotion, you’ll have to pay resort fees but that’s a reasonable cost considering all the benefits you’ll be getting.
The second reason is that you get some better benefits with lower status. In that previous promotion, those with M life Sapphire or Total Rewards Platinum status were only eligible for a 25% discount. This time around, they can get one free night, buffet passes, etc.
The reason this is significant is because you can match to M life Pearl status with World of Hyatt’s Discoverist status. That means anyone with the old Hyatt or new World of Hyatt credit cards can get a free night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino as those cards come with Discoverist status. Although M life isn’t specifically mentioned in the status match table, Borgata – which is listed – is part of M life.
Similarly, the Wyndham Rewards credit card (which has an increased 45,000 point signup bonus for only a few more days) offers Platinum status. Wyndham Rewards Platinum status can be matched to Total Rewards Platinum status to get the free night.
If you’re a member of FoundersCard, this promotion works even better for you too. One of the FoundersCard benefits is Diamond status with Total Rewards. The previous promotion only offered one free night with that promotion; with this one, you’ll get two free nights, $150 bonus play, two free lounge or buffet passes and two tickets to the comedy club.
One thing that’s not entirely clear is if there are restrictions with Rock Royalty status as to when you can book your free nights. With matched Elite status, you’re restricted to Sunday-Friday for your free night. There’s no specified restriction of that kind for Rock Royalty, but it might be imposed anyway. That’d mean you wouldn’t be able to book a weekend stay, but it’s still a great deal.
Question
Are there any other potential status match options that I’ve not listed above? If so, please let us know in the comments below.
With the Hard Rock tier match to Rock Royalty card you can book a weekend stay with your 2 comp nites — I did & have current reservations for Sat/Sun Sept 29 -30..also rather than give the listed 1 entry for 2 at The buffet or Rock Royalty lounge ,I was given $80 comp which is better as the buffet & rock royalty lounge price is $10 comp per person for you & a guest.
So just to make sure, we need to match the status in-person? After we matched it, we would be given the room, correct? Meaning that it wouldn’t be 2 separate trips (1 for matching and 1 for staying).
In theory you need to match in person. There have been some reports though that some phone reps will allow you to match over the phone, but that’s definitely YMMV. I’m not sure how long it takes for the free night to show on your account, but I’d guess you’d be able to use it the same day, but there’s no guarantee.
I had gotten an email from them regarding this plus saw it here previously. I called tried to use it got nowhere. Was told they don’t just give free nights away.
Match Rock Royalty to Ocean’s Black Card. Details listed on Oceans website. Free Play ($100) + 2 free nights + unlimited access to players lounge. Nice deal.
I don’t see Hyatt or Wyndham Rewards mentioned in the list. Can you explain the connection?
Don’t make the same mistakes I did… I tried to go through a handful of status matches to get all the perks this weekend, but failed when it came to matching GN/TR/mLife/Hyatt at the end.
With World of Hyatt, you can link your account to M life and status match to them. Borgata is part of M life, so it goes Hyatt > M life / Borgata > Hard Rock.
With Wyndham, their $75 annual fee credit card gives Platinum status. That can be matched to Total Rewards Platinum Status; Total Rewards is the scheme of Caesar’s et al. So it goes Wyndham > Total Rewards (Caesar’s etc.) > Hard Rock.
Yes, Hyatt and Mlife can be matched online, but Mlife gives more perqs to “new players” if you upgrade to that same Mlife status from another casino program before you begin gambling at an Mlife property.
Consider, in addition to the Hyatt Mlife match:
La Quinta, which matches many travel programs, can be matched to Wyndham online.
.
Total Rewards and Wyndham can be matched to each other online.
.
Mlife and Total Rewards can be status matched in person, at a casino.
.
Mlife MVP = Pearl status for military/veterans/spouses
.
Total Rewards Salute = Platinum status for military/veterans/spouses
.
The credit cards listed in earlier posts as well as FoundersCard are additional paths to status.
Therefore, it makes sense to review which approach confers the highest Mlife or Total Rewards status and from there formulate a matching strategy.
Also, it’s premature to label the AC tier matching frenzy “expired”. The AC matchapalooza doesn’t end until Sept. 30 at multiple casinos.
Does the status match at Hard Rock have to be done in person in Atlantic City, or can you email or fax them a copy of your valid competition Elite casino Players Club Card?
According to DoC, it is in person only.
Yes, but why would I want to go to Atlantic City when it’s 114 in Las Vegas?
Because it’s 114 in Las Vegas 😉
We matched the initial round from TR Diamond to Rock Royalty. Each received 2 free nights, $80 comps, $150 free play. We also received another two nights each for a promo back in April, prior to opening. Recently we received mailers for additional free nights. Also matched to Ocean Resort (Revel) Black Card for two free nights each, $115 free play each and free access to lounges which are great. Ocean Resort has best rooms in A.C.. We parlayed our free play into $2K during the Fri. & Sat. we stayed in July.
Nicely done!
Hey Stephen, thank you for this informative post! Would you happen to know if I could status match and use the free nights in the same day? With a Sun through Thurs arrival. Or is there a wait period between status match and use of rooms? Thanks!
To be honest, I’m not sure. I’d imagine that if you status matched early enough in the day, you’d be able to book the free night, but I guess it depends on if there’s any delay in the free night being loaded to your account.
Hopefully someone who took advantage of the previous offer can let you know their experience.
Cool, thanks for the quick reply!
Call them and tell them you status they will match it and you can book the room over the phone—when you get there get your new card then check into your room. That is how I did it. By the way I did this the first week of July and had Diamond status with Total Rewards and they gave me 2 nights and $150 gambling and the passes at that time
I just tried to call them and spoke to someone in reservations. She said you had to come and have your status matched first before you can book the room. What department did you contact to do this?
Hmm this would have been when the original promo started—I just called the line inquired about the promo and they made the reservation. It was very easy in fact I had to call back and change the date once. I did have to wait in line about an hour to get my upgraded card when I got there before checking in. They have changed the way it is done know.
Great, thanks Jim!
