Hilton has opened registration for their Q4 2018 promotion called Moments Made Bigger. This promo is offering triple points at luxury and resort properties and double points at all their other hotels.
The Deal
- Earn 3x points on all luxury & resort stays.
- Earn 2x points on all other stays.
- Registration required.

Quick Thoughts
This promotion is similar to their Q2 double points promotion, with a twist on which stays earn triple points. With the Q2 promo, all stays in July earned triple points. With this new promo, you can earn triple points for the entire promotion period, but only at luxury and resort properties.
If you have the Amex Hilton Aspire card, that offers the potential to continue earning 54 points per dollar when booking stays at luxury and resort properties:
- 10 base points per dollar.
- 20 bonus points per dollar from Moments Made Bigger promotion.
- 10 bonus points per dollar from Diamond status.
- 14 bonus points per dollar by paying with Amex Hilton Aspire.
- Total = 54 points per dollar.
Some of the cost of the luxury/resort stays can be offset by the Aspire’s $250 resort credit per membership year. If you’re booking a stay at a Waldorf or Conrad property, this would also give you an opportunity to use up the card’s $100 on-property credit when booking the Aspire Card package.
For those who “only” have the Amex Hilton Ascend, you’ll still earn 40 points per dollar even at properties like a Hampton Inn:
- 10 base points per dollar.
- 10 bonus points per dollar from Moments Made Bigger promotion.
- 8 bonus points per dollar from Gold status.
- 12 bonus points per dollar by paying with Amex Hilton Ascend.
- Total = 40 points per dollar.
Moments Made Bigger should stack with the Lufthansa promo, along with one or more of the numerous Hilton Amex Offers currently available.

Hi! How many points would you get if you stayed at a non-luxury property, such as a Hampton Inn and you had already booked the 2x points rate? Would you get 10 more points per dollar, or 20 more? As you point out in your example, it would ordinarily be
10 base points per dollar.
10 bonus points per dollar from Moments Made Bigger promotion.
8 bonus points per dollar from Gold status.
12 bonus points per dollar by paying with Amex Hilton Ascend.
Total = 40 points per dollar.
If you had the 2x rate (where you pay an additional amount per night to double your points) would you get a total of 50, or 60 points per dollar?

You’d get 10 more as the bonus is calculated on the base number of points you earn, so you’d get 50 points per dollar.
