Dosh is an app where you link your credit/debit card(s) and earn cashback when making purchases in-store at participating retailers.
5% back at Sam’s Club is a good return, but it’s a shame that gift cards are excluded. That said, I’m not sure if that’s actually enforced, so let us know in the comments below if you’ve had success in the past with earning cashback through Dosh on gift card purchases at Sam’s Club.
The app itself has very little information about this offer. It does mention that there’s a limit of $20 cashback, meaning you’ll earn 5% on up to $400 of spend at Sam’s Club. Doctor of Credit’s post suggests this is a per day limit, while one of the comments on that post states that it’s per 24 hours. If that’s the case, you’ll have to pay attention to the time you checked out on your previous visit if heading back to Sam’s Club the following day. Unless gift cards are included, although I can’t see many people maxing out the $400 limit every 24 hours.
Hopefully this offer sticks around for another couple of weeks seeing as both Chase Freedom and Discover are offering 5% cashback at wholesale clubs starting on October 1. The Dosh app ran a similar offer last month though, so even if this offer expires in the next few days, they’ll hopefully return with a similar offer at some point in Q4.
Acorns also offers $1 cashback on Sam’s Club purchases of $50+ through their Found Money program. My understanding is that Acorns and Dosh don’t run on the same backend, so it should be possible to earn 5% through Dosh plus $1 through Acorns. Just make sure you’ve linked whichever card(s) you’ll be using before making any purchases.

I did $200 daily for about a week when the 10% offer at Sam’s was available. I’ve done Sam’s gift card only, a combination of Sam’s gift card and Disney gift cards, and combinations of Sam’s and Disney and merchandise. All posted without problems. The max is reset daily. I only wish I could have gotten a few thousand in Disney before the deal ended. Hopefully we will see a repeat of the 10 or 20% deal in Q4!!!
is the GC exclusion new? i did all GC yesterday, and cashback posted immediately.
To be honest, I’m not sure. It might have always been there but not necessarily enforced.
Bought a mix of merchandize and GCs, cashback posted fine.
