Amex is offering a 25% transfer bonus from Membership Rewards to Hawaiian Airlines miles through June 30th, 2021.
The Deal
Through June 30th, get 25% more Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles when transferring from Amex Membership Rewards.
Note that Amex imposes a fee for transfers to U.S. based airline loyalty programs. Amex calls this a “federal excise tax.”
Every time you transfer points into a U.S. airline frequent flyer program, your Linked Card account will be charged an excise tax offset fee of $0.0006 per point (with maximum fee of $99). We charge this fee to offset the federal excise tax we must pay when you transfer points. We may offer you the option to use points to pay this fee. You will be able to review these details before completing the transfer.
My Take
Hawaiian Airlines doesn’t have great award prices, but in some cases they’re the best choice, especially for booking Hawaiian Airlines’ own flights. If you see award availability on a flight that you want,then it can make sense to jump on this transfer bonus. If you do not have a specific award in mind that you see is available, then I do not recommend prospectively transferring to Hawaiian.

Intra Hawaiian island flights are 7,500 HA miles, which would be 6,000 points transferred points from AMEX (6,000 x 1.25 = 7,500). That matches the usual 6,000 JetBlue points for the same intra Hawaiian Island flights. I believe you can book HA flights with connections, which you cannot do with JetBlue points.
