25% transfer bonus to Leading Hotels of the World from Citi ThankYou points

4

Citi ThankYou Rewards is currently offering a 25% transfer bonus when you transfer Citi ThankYou Rewards to Leading Hotels of the World through 8/23/25. This transfer bonus would mean the chance to get about 2c per point out of points transferred to Leaders Club, which could certainly be a solid use of Citi points.

The Deal

  • Through 8/23/25, get a 25% transfer bonus when transferring Citi ThankYou points to Leading Hotels of the World Leaders Club
  • The normal transfer ratio from Citi to Leaders Club is 1000:200. With this bonus, the ratio becomes 1000:250.

Key Terms

  • Valid until 8/23/25

Quick Thoughts

Greg found Leaders Club points to be worth around 8c per point. Since you ordinarily get 1 Leaders Club point per 5 Citi ThankYou points transferred (at the normal 1,000 Citi to 200 Leaders Club ratio), that means that you can ordinarily expect to get around 1.6 cents per Citi point when transferring to Leaders Club.

With a 25% transfer bonus, that bumps up the transfer value to around 2c per Citi point. Keep in mind that there is some variance, so you may get a bit more or less depending on how you use your points. If you are able to get around 2c per Citi point, that is a solid redemption rate for a transfer to a hotel program.

We did a podcast episode the last time that Citi offered a similar bonus, so you can hear more of our thoughts on Leading Hotels of the World and a 25% transfer bonus to it in this Coffee Break episode: Podcast: Citi’s transfer bonus to Leading Hotels of the World | Coffee Break Ep27.

We have added this to our Current point transfer bonuses page, which is where you can always find current and past transfer bonus details.

LHW points are good. the taxes and fees are still high. The accor deal was better though, but LHW has better properties

Could you say more on the taxes and fees? I see some interesting redemptions but it doesn’t say anything when doing searches about taxes

Hal

Just do a booking with cash and when you go thru it will show you the fees and taxes portion. It’s just disappointing booking with points but being subject to all of that. I used LHW to book the Palace in Tokyo. It was $170 or so a night for taxes

Grant

This is great timing since I just received an email from LHW “Your 700 Leaders Club Points are Expiring ON OCTOBER 19, 2025”. I will do the transfer from TYPs to LHW before 8/23/25.
