Chase is out with not one, not two, but three new transfer bonuses today. For most people though, only one of them will be worth considering.
The Deal
- Get the following bonuses when transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to the following programs:
- Air Canada Aeroplan – 20%
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue – 20%
- IHG One Rewards – 70%
Key Terms
- All three transfer bonuses expire on January 15, 2025.
Quick Thoughts
Of the three transfer bonuses, the Aeroplan one will be the most interesting opportunity. That bonus becomes even more attractive if you’re an Aeroplan cardholder who’s planning on transferring at least 50,000 Ultimate Rewards. That’s because one of the perks of being an Aeroplan cardholder is a 10% transfer bonus year-round, so that gets added to the 20% bonus for a total transfer bonus of 30%. Note that there’s a limit of 25,000 bonus points from the 10% benefit each year.
The Air France/KLM Flying Blue transfer bonus has the potential to be of interest for some people. However, we often see bonuses of 25%-30%, so 20% is on the lower end of things.
As for the IHG transfer bonus, please don’t do it. IHG points frequently go on sale for 0.5cpp (cents per point), so you could redeem Ultimate Rewards for cash at a rate of 1cpp and buy 2 IHG points for every Ultimate Rewards point. Taking advantage of this transfer bonus on the other hand would only get you 1.7 IHG points per Ultimate Rewards point.
always a bummer when these show up when you transfer a boatload of points and book the night before. Was thinking odds were low after nothing new showed up 12/1. oh well….
Re: Aeroplan — my app (after logging in) says that I can use Pay Yourself Back for travel through 12-31-2025 at 1.25 CPP. However, the landing page only references no limit through 2024. Any word on what the point limit for PYB will be (if any) in 2025?
Any data appreciated.
Please find out for us Dugroz!

The 40% MR transfer bonus is to Virgin Atlantic?
Ugh, you’re right – that’s what I get for scheduling this so late last night!
