There’s a new targeted Amex Offer out today that’s good for +4 Membership Rewards points per dollar at Dell. That’s awesome when combined with this morning’s Amex announcement that includes extra statement credits at Dell for Business Platinum cardholders (assuming you get targeted on a Business Platinum Card). See: Amex adds great stay-at-home perks to ultra-premium travel cards (this year only)

Quick Thoughts

I found this offer on a Business Platinum card that is also targeted for an extra +1 point per dollar (and 10% back on up to $1500 in spend). See our Current Amex Offers database for all of the various Amex Offers you may currently find for Dell.

I was particularly excited to see this on the Business Platinum and with an expiration date of 7/31. This morning, Amex announced that Business Platinum cardholders will receive an extra $200 in Dell credits this year. Ordinarily, Business Platinum cardholders receive up to $200 in statement credits for Dell purchases each year ($100 between January and June and $100 between July and December). This year (2020), cardholders will receive up to $400 in statement credits at Dell ($200 between May and June and $200 between July and December). Since this offer for +4 points runs through July, it should be possible to make purchases where the balance (after statement credit) earns an extra 4 points per dollar both now and again when the statement credit refreshes in July.

Last year, Amex clawed back on some folks who stacked the Dell statement credit with the offer for 10% back from Dell. I don’t have any way to know what qualifies or doesn’t in Amex’s mind, but I’m going to add all of the offers to my card and see what happens out of these things:

  • +1 Membership Rewards point (valid through 12/31/20)
  • +4 Membership Rewards points (valid through 7/31/20)
  • 10% back up to $1500 back
  • $200 in statement credits May to June and $200 in statement credits July to December

I don’t think you’ll earn points on the portion of your purchase that is statement credited, but if you’re actually looking to buy a computer / TV / etc, this could work out to make for a nice return on spend — particularly if you also stack with a shopping portal. Shopping portal rates are abysmal right now, but we can hope for better days ahead.

Overall, this is a nice new offer that should play nicely with other benefits, particularly if you find it on the Business Platinum card.

looks like i qualified for several deals on dell. Amex business platinum has the $100 credit build into. I’ve got 3 offers that I’ve added: +1Membership reward, +4membership reward and get 10% off. I’m a bit confused though since they seem to reference slightly different dell websites: dell.com, http://www.dell.com/amex, Dell.com/Amexbiz. Any thoughts?

Bigger question is, what good deals are to be had on dell.com? I can’t find anything for a decent price to spend the $200 on!

good ideas, thanks!

Thanks for the notice. I found it in my Business Amex offers, loaded it, and immediately went to read the terms. Also previously loaded the 10% discount offer some time ago.

Both now show:

“Sorry about that! It doesn’t happen often, but offer details are currently unavailable. Please try again later.”

Not sure exactly what that means.
