45% / 35X miles (maybe more?) at TripAdvisor via Capital One Shopping (4/13 only)

Capital One Shopping’s Top Deal of the Day for Monday, April 14, 2026, is TripAdvisor. We’ve seen email offers as high as 45% back this morning via the public Capital One Shopping portal (which anyone can join, no need for a specific card), and we have found an offer for 35X miles in our Capital One credit card accounts. In the past, we have seen TripAdvisor run as high as 70% back via Capital One Shopping, so it is worth keeping an eye out for other elevated email offers. If you’re planning to book activities for an upcoming trip, airport transfers, or instant hotel bookings, today could be a great day to book.

The Deal

  • Capital One has elevated offers available today for purchases at TripAdvisor. Offers are targeted and can vary from one person to another, but you should see some elevated offer for TripAdvisor today if you are either a Capital One Shopping user or a Capital One credit card holder. High offers that we have seen so far include:
    • 45% back at TripAdvisor via Capital One Shopping (via email and on home page)
    • 35X miles at TripAdvisor in a Capital One credit card account

Quick Thoughts

TripAdvisor offers a range of activities/things to do that could certainly be of interest. While prices aren’t always a deal, they can be decent in some cases. Getting a return of 35X miles or 45% back often more than makes up for any price inflation.

Note the terms, as there are quite a few specific exclusions. That said, the exclusions do point to some things that might be of interest. For instance, while the Cirque du Solei show “O” at Bellagio in Las Vegas is excluded, terms do not exclude other Vegas Cirque shows. Similarly, while London productions of The Lion King are excluded, there are a multitude of other shows available through TripAdvisor (including Wicked and Hamilton on Broadway).

In the past, I’ve found things like airport transfers and boat rentals to look particularly attractive when taking advantage of an increased portal offer. For instance, we chartered a Catamaran in Malta a couple of years ago through one of the activity booking sites. That wasn’t necessarily cheap (it was about $800), but getting 45% back on something like that could certainly be more reasonable (in our case, both kids got seasick and the day got cut very short, so I certainly wish we had at least gotten a great portal payout!). Similarly, airport transfers in a city like New York look far more reasonable with 45% or 35X miles back.

Keep in mind that travel bookings may track as “ineligible” until after travel is completed. See that post for details, but that is exactly what happened for me the last time I made TripAdvisor bookings through Capital One Shopping. However, they became “pending” (and eventually credited) after travel was completed.

As always, keep your eye on your email for targeted offers that may be even higher. If you don’t receive an email from Capital One Shopping, it may be worth clicking around TripAdvisor or any other merchant website for a while in the browser where you have the Capital One Shopping extension installed. We’ve commonly found that some activity in that browser will trigger an email within a couple of hours. Even if the headline of the email is specific to an offer for some other site, you may find an elevated offer for the Top Deal of the Day in the middle of the email, so keep an eye on those messages.

theme parks

I see theme parks are listed as an exclusion as well as specific theme parks. For example, Universal Studios Orlando is excluded, would Universal Studios Hollywood also be excluded as a theme park?

Multiple bookings count for the offer?

Thanks Nick!
Also can we double dip capitalone shopping and capitalone offer if we use Venture x CC?

Does anyone know how to do hotel Instant Bookings on Tripadvisor when using a C1 Shopping link? I’m finding that the same hotels that can be booked instantly through the app do not show up that way on the website. They only have links to third party sites.

There is a button on the mobile website to open a page in the app (It’s at the top to the right of the Tripadvisor logo), but I doubt that the C1 Shopping tracking carries through when you click that button.
