A fresh round is out this week of a targeted Amex Offer that’s good for +5 American Express Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at Amazon, up to 2,000 points (enrollment required). Given the breadth of stuff that Amazon sells, this will likely be an easy 2K points for many.

Quick Thoughts
This offer comes around periodically — the latest round came out this week and is valid until the end of April. It’s worth syncing this one up if you’re a regular Amex shopper.
Is there a “simple” way to search all cards at once for what offers are available by typing in a store name?
8 Amex cards (4 earning MR) and not targeted on a single one. oh well.
Isn’t the 5% back for using an Amazon credit card a better deal?
if it is +5 on top of whatever card (1x say on Plat) would beat Amazon 5% cash back right? Even if it is just 5X only, transferable, beats 5% cash back assuming you can transfer to greater than 1ct value which is one of the major reasons to transfer versus just cash out the points at 1ct. And if you are a mix of both of those meaning sometimes you cash out at 1ct per point and sometimes you transfer for value over 1ct per point, then this beats not having that option and only getting 5cts per point via the Amazon credit card? BTW, I have the Amazon credit card and do like the 5% I get back when using it for example on my Pharmacy purchases which require you to use a credit card and not any Amazon Gift Cards. But, for my regular merch I buy on Amazon, I have loaded Amazon Gift Cards that I buy at OMOD/Staples at 5x Chase points via CIC. And since I mostly use my chase points to book Hyatts at around 2cts per point, I calculate I’m getting a 10% return on spend at Amazon. Just my 2cts. (pun intended) Cheers!
Couldn’t have put it any better I do the same for Costco too for the quarter in which Chase Freedom warehouse clubs category rolls in, because as you said, transferable is better than cash and it’s better to at least have the option to transfer with minimum 1 cent cash value being baked in anyway. Back to Amex offer above, I usually try to link it to the card with the highest MR (Blue Business Plus in my case) to get 2+5=7 MR for Amazon spend, easily worth more than 10% for me.
mY P2 got this offer on her vanilla Platinum:
Get 2 additional Membership Rewards® points for each dollar spent on qualifying purchases made using your enrolled eligible Card online at Amazon.com by 4/30/2024. Limit of 1,000 Membership Rewards points
better off buying Amz gift cards at either (1) Office Depot/Staples at 5x with Chase Ink Cash or (2) Gas Stations with Wyndham Earner at 8x or (3) Grocery Stores with Amex Gold at 4x
Loading Amazon balance with $400 should trigger this, shouldn’t it?
Yes, I loaded $100 yesterday and 500 points are already in the account this morning.
