Quick Thoughts
If your primary goal here is to get a discount on a restaurant gift card, you may be able to score a bigger discount on second-hand gift cards for that specific restaurant and/or be able to buy that brand directly (or via Amazon, Sam’s Club, or other major retailers) for similar or better discounts in the coming weeks. The advantage with this deal is rather if you are able to use these Happy cards at some of the stores where it is less common to be able to buy a gift card at a 20% discount. A further plus is that these cards operate more like a Visa gift card that is restricted to the pictured brands, which might make it more useful.
Keep in mind that Kroger will be offering 4x fuel points on gift cards beginning on November 17th. As this deal is on until November 26th, you may want to hold out a few days to place your order. On the other hand, you run the risk of the more desirable brands going out of stock before 4x fuel points begin. Personally, I think I’m going to take 2x fuel points and order today as I have a need for these Happy cards and I will be driving through Kroger country and be able to put the fuel points to use before they expire (note that fuel points expire at the end of the month following the month in which they are earned — so fuel points you earn today will expire on 12/31/19).
H/T: GC Galore
Looks like most are sold out as of today 11/17. Does anyone know if they typically restock or is this a done deal?
I’m thinking either buying a bunch and go to BBB to change for Amazon GC etc. Or combine for Dell blackfriday for a good 20% off a laptop.
BB&B still allows to buy gift card with Happy???
I see JC Penney is on a couple of these cards (Happy Bride, Happy Student). Can you buy 3rd party gift cards with these cards there?
I don’t know. But you’re on the right track.
I thought that stores weren’t allowing the purchase of gift cards with these anymore (see Stephen’s 6/25/19 post)? Like when Panera does their buy $50, get $10 bonus promo during this season. Is it YMMV because the registers aren’t hard coded?
With that being said, Happy Her is already sold out.
As it says in his post, not hard coded to my knowledge.
Ha, so they aren’t offering the “Him” version which has Home Depot….the main Happy card that is a great deal
I wouldn’t say that’s the main one that is a great deal. A number of these are as good.
would the purchase of these cards count as supermarket?
No. It will post to your CC as GiftCardMall
