American Airlines is offering web specials to Europe in economy, premium economy, and business class. Business class at 84K round trip is a standout value, especially with availability from many smaller airports — though the web specials in economy and premium economy could also be attractive depending on your cities and dates.
The Deal
- American Airlines is offering web specials to Europe that are widely available from many regional airports with the following prices:
- 34K RT in economy class
- 54K RT in premium economy class
- 84K RT in business class
- Search and use the calendar view to find availability at AA.com

Quick Thoughts
The easiest way to find these awards is simply to put in dates and search a route at AA.com and then click “calendar” in the top right corner above the rates. Then you can filter by cabin class.
As noted at the top, these deals are most widely available from smaller regional airports. For example, here’s a look at Albany, NY to Paris, France in January.
As you saw under “The Deal”, there are web specials in all three cabin classes, with the best deals only available round trip.
Keep in mind that as these are web specials, you can not make changes and cancellations are subject to a fee to redeposit miles. However, American still allows a 5-day hold for free. If your plans are not yet firm, place a hold on your desired itinerary and give yourself a few days to think it over.
You’re giving up a lot of flexibility when you book these, but five days can give you time to at least make other plans. That may be worth it to those sitting on a large stash of AA miles as this represents a rare chance to book premium cabin international awards on American Airlines metal.
Even though the availability here is during low season, I don’t imagine this will last for a long time, especially given that people starting from multiple regional gateways are competing for the same long-haul space. If you’re interested, I suggest putting awards on hold sooner rather than later.
While AA has been in the blogosphere for less flattering news the past couple of days (see: here, here, here, and here), I was pretty happy with my A330 from Orlando to Charlotte last week. The seats were surprisingly comfortable and service was better than I expected (though quite a small sample size on a flight of 1hr and 20minutes).

Definitely some rough layovers. The first one I looked at had hour long flights followed by almost 22 hour layovers for the first two legs:
Sunday evening: State College -> Philadelphia
Monday evening: Philadelphia -> New York
Tuesday evening: New York -> Paris
