Here are 15 more SLH properties you can book via Hilton

1

Ever since Hilton partnered with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), they’ve steadily added more properties that you can book via the Hilton platform, whether as paid stays, with points or with free night certificates.

Last week we wrote about 31 new (or newish) properties; off the back of that, it turns out that there are 15 more SLH locations that are part of its partnership with Hilton.

These 15 properties aren’t necessarily new to being bookable with Hilton, so it’s possible you’ve seen them in search results for several months. However, they hadn’t until the last few days – if at all – been included on this list on Hilton’s website of SLH properties participating in the Hilton Honors program. To find them, I manually compared that text list to the map list you can find on this page. Note that the map doesn’t cover the entire world within one view, so although it initially looks like there are 327 SLH properties worldwide, there are more in Asia, Oceana, etc. To discover those, you have to drag the map to that part of the world, but that means properties in other parts of the world will drop off the list.

The 15 somewhat-hidden properties in question are as follows (I’ve included links to make it easier to check them out):

Each of these properties have their own selling points, but here are a few of the properties that caught my eye.

The Liming Bequia

This is an SLH property in Saint Vincent & Grenadines. That’s not a cheap place to visit and, on the dates I checked, room rates at this hotel start at almost $900 per night.

Despite those high cash rates, the hotel charges a surprisingly low 95,000 points per night for a standard room. I say ‘surprisingly low’ because Hilton award stays can cost up to 150,000 points per night and many other hotels with high cash rates like this do indeed charge 120,000-150,000 points per night.

What made this hotel stand out even more is what’s classed as a standard room. Depending on award availability, you can book straight in to a Junior Suite or One Bedroom Villa.

If you’re ridiculously flush with Hilton points, you can also redeem 1 million points per night for a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom villa which also includes a kitchen, living room, dining room and media room. That’s awful value for points though seeing as that 5 bedroom villa can be booked for $2,500 per night.

VALA Hua Hin

It can sometimes be hard finding availability at SLH properties because some locations are so small that they have very few standard rooms bookable with points or free night certificates. A hotel where that should prove to be less of an issue is VALA Hua Hin.

That’s because there are at least three room types – Deluxe Twin Room, Deluxe King Room and Deluxe Sea View Twin Room – that are bookable at its standard 50,000 point redemption rate. On a cents per point (cpp) basis, that’s pretty good value as room rates for the sea view room can cost at least $300 per night. Remember that with Hilton you get every 5th night free on award stays if you have Silver status or higher, so that can make booking with points even better value.

Taru Villas Villu

If natural beauty is what you’re after, Taru Villas Villu might be the property for you. That’s because it’s on the edge of Wilpattu National Park in Sri Lanka.

Award nights for a Superior Room cost 110,000 points per night, while cash rates can cost at least $1,300 per night. As with many other SLH locations, you can also book other room types as Premium Room Rewards, but that offers very poor value. For example, at Taru Villas Villu the room rate for a Premier Chalet with plunge pool is only ~$150 more per night than a Superior Room, but it costs more than 700,000 points per night extra. If you’re given the option for a cash upgrade from a Superior Room though, that could be worthwhile.

Villa Santa Cruz

Another property with multiple room types bookable as standard room awards is Villa Santa Cruz in Mexico. There are at least four room types that each have ocean views and are bookable for 110,000 points per night – Ocean View Queen Granada, Ocean View King Agave, Suite Sierra and Suite Tortuga.

The property has olive groves and an agave field you can walk through, a swim-up bar, and even a tequila cave where you can do a mezcal tasting.

Question

Have you stayed at any of these properties already and so can recommend any of them? Or do any of them catch your eye too? Let us know in the comments below.
