100% off Visa and Mastercard Gift Card purchase fees through 5/11

Mastercardgiftcard.com and Vanillagift.com are each offering promotions for Mother’s Day that waive 100% of the purchase fee for gift card orders of $50 or more. Your best bet will be eGift / virtual gift cards since those have no shipping fee and represent fee-free gift card options.

The Deal

  • Two popular gift card websites are offering to waive purchase fees through 5/11/25 as a Mother’s Day Promotion:

Key Terms

  • Codes for both sites are valid through 5/11/25

Quick Thoughts

Virtual cards make more sense than physical cards since there is no shipping fee for virtual cards. The code therefore makes the purchase fee-free. For instance, I put four $500 Mastercard eGift cards in my card, applied the code MOM2025, and the total came to exactly $2,000.

That said, if you’ve never used cards from one site or the other, it might make sense to purchase a card and be sure it will work for your intended purchase type. For instance, at Doctor of Credit, I noticed one data point saying that the Mastercards will work to purchase a Costco Shop card at Costco.com and another comment saying that (perhaps the Vanilla Visas?) will work at Costco.com, but not on Costco Shop cards. I haven’t ever tried purchasing a Costco Shop card with either of them, so your mileage may vary — the moral of the story is that virtual Visa and Mastercard gift cards aren’t always as broadly useful as one might expect.

That said, I’ve used gift cards from both to pay insurance bills online without issue, so there certainly are some scenarios where this might make sense whether as a gift or for personal use.

What category would this purchase code as? Any bonus category that would be worthwhile other than 2X from a Citi Double Cash, Amex Business Blue Plus or Capital One Venture X? Thanks for the great content. I’m a loyal fan.

Wick

Nope. Just 2x Venture X
