Quick Thoughts

It’s important to note that this offer is valid only at properties in the US and US territories, along with Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It also excludes Marriott Homes and Villas and Design Hotels, along with some other vacation rental brands. The Protea exclusion is redundant since those are outside the US anyway.

Historically, these Marriott Amex offers have been triggered by a gift card purchase at the front desk, even though the terms exclude gift card purchases. It has always been a crap shoot as to whether properties sell gift cards at all…and if they do, whether or not they’ll actually have them in stock (and then whether or not they know how to load them). It’s probably worth calling to see if a location has them before you make a trip to the hotel. In general, higher-end brands seem to stock them much more frequently than the Fairfields and Courtyards of the world.

As always, we have added this to our Current Amex Offers database.

The offer was on one of my employee cards but not the primary card (which is mine) for the overall account. I’ve never seen an offer show up only for an employee card, and in fact, the only way I saw it was by using the tool that allows you to add to multiple card offers simultaneously (I don’t even see a place on my profile after logging in to see offers for employee cards). Does anyone know if i use my primary card, will it still post since it all under the same account?

The Marriott offer (spend $375, get $100) was in our Amex offers this morning. When I went back in the account to load with CardPointers this afternoon, the offer was gone. Any chance, or trick, to get it back?

Which card?

DSK

Marriott, which was nice. Nothing on mine–just P2.

That’s nice.

I don’t have one but notice P2 got on on BBP. Have a trip coming up with resort fees that won’t add up to $250. Would consider buying a Marriott GC but it’s painful to get P2 to get to the Marriott with me (and at least at the one nearby Marriott they matched the DL to the card the last time I bought GCs).

My offer was “spend $500 get $100 back”.
