There’s a new, 85K offer out on the Chase Aeroplan Card with a very reasonable minimum spend: $4,000 over the first three months. This is 10K better than the standard public offer.
This offer could be appealing for folks who are looking for Aeroplan points and for those who want to spend towards earning Air Canada elite status.

Quick Thoughts
At first glance, this offer might not look terribly strong, given that you can transfer to Aeroplan from all of the major transferable currencies. If you’re after 85,000 Aeroplan points, there are a multitude of ways to get there.
On the other hand, the Aeroplan card certainly has some appeal. With $15K spend, you can get 25K status, and with $50K spend, you also get a status boost up to the next level from whatever level you have earned based on flight activity.
The card earns 3x at grocery stores and on dining, along with an additional 500 points after each $2K spend up to $6K spend per month, so it certainly isn’t an unreasonable card to use for those categories. Additionally, Chase Aeroplan cardholders can currently redeem Aeroplan points to “pay yourself back” for travel purchases at a value of 1.25c per point, up to a maximum of 200,000 points per year. That could certainly have appeal for some and make the bonus categories even more appealing.
However, as noted above, there are lots of other ways to earn Aeroplan points, so unless the card itself has some appeal, it may be worth keeping an eye out for better offers with transferable points from Chase, Amex, or Capital One.

WOW approved yet WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over 5/24, way over!
Off to Kroger store to buy some fee free $500 VGC. Thanks Tim, I might have to change my sign in name to I LOVE TIM
Lucky! I YOLO’d an application while at 10/24 and got the 7-10 day review message
Do you know if you’re approved for the aeroplan card today, can you still leverage the 20% bonus and get the additional 10% from the card?
The 10% rebate is delayed.
My guess is it would work if you were approved today, and had the proper Aeroplan # attached to the application.
