Quick Thoughts
One of the helpful things about the selection of cities eligible for Flying Blue Promo Rewards each month tends to span the US, and this latest batch is no exception. On the East Coast, you’ve got Miami and Washington; on the West Coast, you’ve got Seattle and San Francisco. In between, you’ve got Dallas, Phoenix, and Montreal. That makes it easier to take a positioning flight to whichever of those airports is closest.
Economy awards between the US and Europe usually cost 25,000 miles one way with Flying Blue, so the 25% discount drops it to 18,750 miles. Premium economy goes from 40,000 miles to 30,000, and business class from 60,000 to 45,000.
Availability tends to be good, but that partially depends on your origin and destination cities. If you’re booking flights that originate in the US and taxes/fees come to $1,000 or more, there’s an Amex Offer available that gives you 20,000 bonus Membership Rewards.

Not that I can use them, but I did spot some 45k business awards to IAD from Italy in December. So dink around with the cities.
