Update: Several readers have commented to highlight that Capital One Offers – the shopping portal available for Capital One cardholders – is also offering a similar, but better, deal.
The rates are targeted, but it seems like you can earn 25x-35x Capital One miles for Hotels.com for today only too. That’s even better than earning 25%-30% back because with Capital One Shopping you’re limited to redeeming for a selection of merchant gift cards, whereas with Capital One Offers you’re earning transferable miles (provided you have a card that earns miles rather than cashback).

Capital One Shopping frequently offers very generous returns for some retailers on a targeted basis based on your browsing history. They’re currently offering 25% or 30% back on Hotels.com bookings, but what makes this much less common is that it’s a public offer that’s not targeted.
It is an opportunity you’ll need to jump on if interested though because you only have today (October 21) to book.
The Deal
- Earn 25% or 30% back at Hotels.com via Capital One Shopping.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires October 21, 2025.
- Limit $250 back.
Quick Thoughts
25% or 30% back at Hotels.com is an excellent deal, but as noted above these rates are only available on Tuesday October 21.
The 25% rate is listed on the home page of Capital One Shopping, but in an email from Capital One Shopping today it’s listing the rate at 30%. I’d therefore double check both options (provided you get an email from Capital One Shopping today); I don’t think either rate is targeted per se; I think it’s just the location from which you click through that’s offering a different rate.
With a limit of $250 back, you’ll max this out when spending $833.33 if you use the 30% offer or $1,000 if you have the 25% offer.

NOTE: I was looking at booking a large group accommodation in Gulf Shores with this that was several thousand dollars so I reviewed it closely. When I read through the “Full Terms and Conditions” posted on Capital One Offers I interpreted them to impose a limit of $1,000 cash or points equivalent every 3 billing cycles. They appear to value points at 1c per point for this, so this would limit the points you could earn to 100,000 in any three months billing cycle. I am unsure if this is combined with Capital One Shopping rebates or is its own thing (I didn’t read it that closely) but if you are looking to book a dream vacation, many individual reservations, or have been particularly good at jumping on Capital One Offers I could see a person possibly hitting this threshold and then being disappointed if they think there is no limit on this type of offer. I would have gotten less than 35X on my group booking so I am glad I read them.
That was my interpretation of the terms and I could be wrong or they could not apply them strictly, I would just be cautious, especially with expensive bookings!
I’m new to CapOne. I am seeing an Offer of 25X on my Venture card (not Venture X). Will I be able to use the 25X points I earn as payment towards the charge on my card? Can they be used like a travel credit towards travel purchases on the card?
does this work with gift cards bought on hotels.com
Unfortunately not; those gift card purchases are processed by CashStar.
Can you stack this with $300 annual travel credit?
I don’t see how because you have to click through to Hotels.com for either the Capital One Shopping or the Capital One card offer, and the $300 Venture X credit has to be booked through Capital One Shopping. I think it should stack with the $300 credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
I only see 25x on Venture X, but 35x on Capital one shopping.
I’m also seeing 30x in Capital One offers linked to my Venture X card.
I’m seeing 35x on my Venture X
Also seeing 35x on Venture X
Nice! I have 30% for P1 and 35% for P2 on Capital One Shopping, and 30x miles for P1 and 25x miles for P2 on Capital One card offers. Of those I think 30x miles is best.
I had 35x this AM on C1 Offers, and now its 25x. They are playing games!
Do you have more than one Capital One card? My wife has 25x on one card, but 35x on another.
just one card–Venture X. And I know I wasn’t imagining it because I took a screenshot of the 35x to show my husband in the morning
Yeah mine offers are jumping around in both shopping and card offers. I was going to rush to book a couple of things today to take advantage of the offer but am now less inclined to rush.
I’m having the same issue. It was 35x a few hours ago, but now it’s showing 25x. My guess is that they have a limited number of redemptions available at each return multiplier.
