Quick Thoughts
This sale gives you an almost 25% discount on the cost of a Saver$ Club membership. This subscription gives you a discount on Spirit fares, seats, bags, and more. If you fly with Spirit frequently, this subscription could easily end up paying for itself, although you’ll need to do the math for your own travel habits.
On the flight side of things, when searching flight prices on the Spirit website you’ll see an option to toggle on ‘Check to see Saver$ Club discount’. That gives you an option to check the savings on flights at least. On a quick check I just did, a Saver$ Club membership would save $11 on a one way flight I was looking at, regardless of whether that was booked into Value, Premium Economy, or Spirit First. That means it wouldn’t take many flights to recoup the $50.95 first year cost, especially if you’d also be paying for seats, bags, etc.
Something to bear in mind is that Spirit has been in dire financial straits. There’s no guarantee that they’ll last another year. There’s also a chance that they get bought by another airline; if that happened, there’s no knowing what would happen with your Saver$ Club membership. If you have several Spirit flights anticipated in the next few months that you still need to book though, it could definitely be worth picking up one of these memberships.
If you have Spirit selected for airline fee credits on eligible Amex cards, there are reports that paying for a Saver$ Club membership triggers those statement credits.
